I think most of them use 6 or 8mm machine screws, probably in the neighborhood of 10-12mm in length

According to my information if the noise comes on and off in connetion with tv turned on and off, the noise is due to a change in ambient humitity or temerature. Then there is nothing wrong with the TV,just wait till the weather changes.
I wouldalsocheck the AUDIO settings on the TV .

Behind nearby if you are keeping Magnetic appliance like woofer/speaker.Place it apart and try this may help you

check your lights on the front, it could be the temp it may be getting to hot due to a bad fan are it could be the lamp needing to be replaced

Take the tv aparts.Take the tv manual control board aparts.Reajusting the board and screws it back in.Should solved ur problems,if not than the whole tv Tuner signal board is the causes and the problems.That the board,where the incomming broadcasting signal board plug into it,this board have intermittent problems and the causes.Try website like Ebay.com t buy a whole refurbish tv Tuner signal board for the replacement.

try to find a part number on the board. you can punch this # into google to find a part. hp used different brands so you will have to get the number off the board. look for buldged caps, maybe you can fix the board if it has some. google "bulged cap" to see what they'll look like

Sorry to say - it sounds like the 'pop of death'. The 50" Zenith plasma is very common for having a power failure issue. The problem resides in the Y-Sustain board in most cases. The Toshiba 50HP66 and Vizio P50HDM (as well as LG and HP 50" Plasmas) also have the same issue as they all use the same PDP Panel (plasma panel). The parts are manufactured by LG/Zenith Corporation. Since your Zenith is the model i'm thinking of (Z50PX2D), then the board you would need is the following:
