Hi,
If you're looking for the exhaust filter, it is on the top of the machine under the crevice tool and dusting brush.
If you look at the rear of the machine you will see a tab on the attachment holder.
Remove the attachments on the unit
Push tab on rear of vacuum on the attachment compartment
Lift cover and your exhaust filter should be exposed and should just pop right off for replacement.

I have leakage into bag compartment. I just took it apart and the bag is not anywhere near full, but the bag compartment is filthy.

This should not happen even when bag gets full. It is possible an older bag had a hole in it causing this leak or new bag not fitted correctly. First clean inner walls of bag compartment to see if problem persists. If the lid is one of these walls take it off completely and wash it. When installing new bag be sure bag goes on snug and secure. Push the collar all the way back in place without tearing the bag. Other filters may need washed out too.

Model No. 116.39110900

Remove the filter / bag from the compartment, close the cover and briefly turn on the vacuum - is there suction? If so, check that the bag isn't already full / or replace with a new bag. Make sure it the bag is not being pinched / caught under the cover.

If no suction, look closely at the edge of the filter / bag compartment opening of the vacuum. There should be a gasket that the cover presses against to help ensure a good seal. If this gasket is missing, cut, has an object lodged on it or is otherwise damaged - it may be preventing proper sealing of the door; allowing air to be pulled through the gap in the seal - and responsible for the loss of suction at the hose.

My Riccar Upright leave lines of debris when I use it. Can you help?

Inspect the filter.Open the secondary filter on the base of the vacuum to ensure that dirt and debris have not collected on the filter, as this will limit motor performance. Remove the filter from the dust compartment and rinse with water to clean. Allow it to dry completely and return to the dust compartment.--------
Also check if dust bag is got over full and that is causing the problem.Open the dust compartment, take the old dust bag out of the bag holder and discard. Open the end of a new dust bag and attach to the dust bag holder. Close the dust compartment and tighten the dust cover. Also check properly that dust compartment is not got loose. Open cleaning attachment and check the hoses and nozzles on the frequently to ensure that they are free of dirt, obstruction or hair. Also inspect the brushes, if there is already dirt got stuck in the brushes and that is causing the problem.Clean the brushed.---------- This will help, to confirm where the problem is and to resolve the dirt /debris issue.----- Thanks.Helpmech.

Where is motor filter located for Eureka Smart vac model 4870

The motor filter is inside the bag compartment. Lift up the bag at bottom, you will see a black grid with a finger pull tab. Lift it up and you should see a bright yellow small filter.

How do you cheng the filter

The Sebo X1 has 2 filters. Both should be changed once for every 20 bag changes. The long cylindrical filter in the bag compartment just slides out to the front - grab the little handle at the bottom and pull forwards - it can be a bit stuck, so you may need to lever it out with a screwdriver or similar. When you put the new one in, make sure you push the little metal lever back up behind it (this is just a simple device to prevent you from shutting the bag compartment when there's no filter present).
To find the second filter, release the foot pedal and lie the handle flat on the floor. This exposes a square panel with lots of small holes in it. Release that panel by squeezing the clip, lift it off and pull the foam filter out. Just drop the new one in and replace the cover, pushing it until it clicks into place. Job done!

Electrolux Model 2100 vacuum won't work

hi from uk may i suggest you remove cover and the new dust collection bag then if you look in the bag compartment there is a gauze filter fitted usually grey in colour ? at opposite end of compartment where bag connects this gauze filter is the outlet from bag compartment that the air exhales when vac is operating ie as vac **** up dust into bag the bag has microscopic holes that allow sucked up air and dust to collect but keeps dust from passing into bag chamber but allows air to escape thro holes and so enter bag chamber then escapes via the gauze filter to outside of vac hope you follow this ?? now if this filter is blocked/never been cleaned/changed ? then the symptoms of indicator bag full light will come on you can remove and wash filter if it is gauze typ? dry and refit then try vacuuming ? or replace filter they are not expensive usually in pack of 3 in uk DO NOT RUN VAC WITHOUT THIS FILTER FITTED ! or you will have some dust in the room ? hope this helps?

My canister machine kicks off immediately after starting and bag full light goes on but it has a new bag

hi from uk your problem with vac may be the gauze filter on the inside of the compartment that has bag this filter there to allow air from the micro pores of the bag to expel to the exterior of vac (room) whilst preventing dust from expelling too ? normally another symptom of this is the vac cover sometimes flips up ? however if air cannot expel from compartment it will cause overheat of motor resulting in auto cut off but will reset when cooled SO check the filter gauze and renew or wash clean? hope you understand above and hope this helps ?

I can not find how to get the canister apart to empty the dirt.

From the bottom of your machine going upwards past the handle that is on the canister portion of this vacuum, you will see that the top of that canister had a depression where you should be able to put your fingers in, and gently pull that lid back, opening the vacuum bag compartment. According to the manual, simply pull that back, exposing the bag. To remove the bag, pull the cardboard plate on the top of the bag, out towards the no open face. Throw away your old bag, and take your new bag, fold down the paper sides of the bag, then slide the new bag into the track completely. Close your lid, and you are done.
While you have this compartment open, it's a good idea to check your filter that sits below the paper bag.

Part numbers
Paper Bag: SC-P11
Filter: SC-F2

I hope this helps you.
