Low refrigerant will cause this; furthermore, if you leave the refrigerator door open by accident, the refrigerator will never shut off, the freezer evaporator will freeze over with a block of ice, and the freezer temps will be higher. If that is what happened, simply unplug the unit and allow it to self defrost and then turn it back on for proper operation and make sure that the refrigerator door is properly closed!

check the condensor fan if that aint it unit may be low on charge

check the temp dial. and set to a lower temp. *be mindful of the surrounding temp of the freezer. it will not work properly if it is in 125 degree surrounding air. * check the coils on the freezer and make sure that they are clean. this allows for proper heat transfer from the inside of the box to the outside air. also check to see if the blower is running. * Check to see if there are signs of oil around the freezer, if so contact a service tech

Check the thermostat, to make sure that it is working properly. The theremostat is a long wire in the top of the freezer up near the fan. If that is bad it will not let your freezer cool correctly
