I have a sony cybershot dsc-f707 Icant zoom in or out only after I take a picture. I also wanted to know if I need to charge the lense to zoom?

Option 1:

Reset the Camera and check if it helps to resolve the issue.(Resetting the Camera will reset the settings of the Camera to the factory settings including date and time. It will not delete any data saved in the Camera).

The RESET button is located inside the battery/ Memory Stick cover. The Camera should be switched ON when you reset the unit. Press the RESET button using a sharp-pointed object.

Option 2:

If issue persists try Power reset the Camera by removing the battery from the Camera and inserting it after 1 minute.

Use a fully charged Battery in the Camera so that the Zoom function work normally.

ALL RESET

The ALL RESET function works two ways. When it is set to ON it restores the camera to the default settings once the camera is powered off. You can still put in custom settings, but they will be reset when you turn the camera off. When it is set to OFF the camera remembers the settings you have entered. For example, if you want the camera to always start up in the 3:2 aspect ratio you would turn ALL RESET to OFF and then select the 3:2 quality setting. The 3:2 setup will be there every time you start the camera up until you set ALL RESET to ON. When ALL RESET is set to OFF the camera will accumulate all of your setting changes, so it is recommended to reset the camera occasionally.
