Bottom oven will not heat up.

This is a Maytag Gemini Gas range/ double oven that is running on propane.
The top oven is working, but when the bottom oven in burned on to bake, it will not heat up. No flame is seen either on the bottom like there is on the top.
When they are off, no flame is seen either, so I don't think this is an issue with the pilot light.
Any suggestions as to what to try before scheduling a service that will be light years away.
Thanks
DC

Find the bake ignitor (you may need to remove bottom drawer or oven cavity floor to get to the ignitor). Turn on the bake. If the bake ignitor comes on (starts glowing after a few seconds) - check the amperage on the bake ignitor wires when it's on. If the ignitor is a round style - amperage should be 2.5-3A, if the ignitor is rectangular - 3 - 3.6A. If less than 2.5A or 3A respectively - replace ignitor. If the ignitor does not come on - check the voltage on the ignitor, should be the line voltage 110-120v AC. If there is a line voltage on the ignitor and it's not coming on - replace.
Ignitor part numbers for round style ones: 4342528, WB2X9154, SGR403, 5304401265;
rectangular styles: 12400035, WB13K21, WB2X9998, SGR412, NR020, 5303935066, 814269, 9753108.
Ignitors of the same shape (i.e. rectangular) are interchangeable, if you can splice the wires.

Good luck!

Maytag Gemini, double oven electric. Replaced bottom element, replaced thermal sensor and tested power. It still won't heat up. WHY?

There are several potential reasons why your Maytag Gemini double oven electric range is still not heating up after replacing the bottom element and thermal sensor and testing the power. Some possibilities include:
  1. The wiring or control board may be faulty and preventing the oven from heating up.
  2. The upper heating element or broil element may also be faulty and need to be replaced.
  3. The oven may not be calibrated properly, which could cause it to not heat up correctly.
  4. There may be a problem with the oven's door latch or switch, which could prevent it from heating up.

My Maytag Gemini double oven gas...........the bottom oven won't heat up past 100 degrees. What can I do to troubleshoot?

Hi

This issue seems to be with the gas inlet valve or the igniter itself that is bad. Gas Valve has a bi-metal that open when a certain amount of current flows through it to heat it up. Make sure that the glow bar is not cracked. Faulty igniters can allow correct current to flow to the oven gas valve for it to open but not get quite hot enough to ignite the gas burner immediately. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

you have to allow the broiler to warm up. give it a few minutes (maybe even ten) eventually the broiler will come on.
