Sewing machine is jamming on first turn permanently

My machine is turning one circuit and jamming, I have taken off the thread and needle and it is still jamming after only one turn of the wheel, It will go backwards one turn and forwards one turn but is stuck at a certin point. Please help, I cannot see any thread caught in bobbin case or upper part of machine.

Thank you but the machine has gone back and I got a replacement, It was not the bobbin, but I will keep that one in mind should I ever run into another problem. This was even happening without the bobbin or any thread in the machine.

Your bobbin may be in backwards. Is it possible to put it in either way?

  • Jimmie Sill Nov 08, 2014

THERE ARE A COUPLE OF POSSIBILITIES. TRY TO INCREASE THE TOP TENSION. IT SHOULD BE ON AROUND THREE. IF THIS DOESN'T WORK THEN TRY TO SEW WITH THE NEEDLE ON THE RIGHT SIDE ONLY. IF THIS WORKS BUT DOESN'T SEW ON THE LEFT YOUR ARE NEEDING TO TIME YOUR HOOK.

How do I get my machine to start sewing and stop beeping?

try rethreading the machine--use EVERY thread guide
make sure the needle is inserted up into the needle holder and turned the right direction
make sure the bobbin is inserted correctly into the bobbin case and turned the right direction
clean under the needle plate and in the bobbin area for loose thread or lint
make sure thread has not come off the thread take up lever
also the jam could have caused the machine to jump time and needs a timing or a adjustment

Have a pfaff2036.wife was sewing and it jamed.how what

Try unplugging machine from wall. Remove the tread and needle.
Turn hand wheel backwards, the hook probably has a piece of thread jammed in the race. If you can turn backwards look for the small piece of thread remove it. New needle and rethread plug in and try again.

I was sewing, turned the machine off to pin something, and when I turned it back on, it jammed in the bobbin area. It will only stitch one stitch and then jams. I have taken it apart over 30 times, and...

have you tried changing the needle-
1.the needle may be bent or damaged--try rolling the needle on a flat surface to see if it's bent or not
Correct needle insertion
Correct needle insertion is mandatory for proper use of sewing machine.
Raise the needle bar to the highest point, then loosen the clamp screw to remove the old needle, place the new needle in the clamp with the flat side to the back of the machine or if using a round needle--the groove in the needle should face away from the shaft.
Push the needle all the way up to the stop or as far as it will go, then tighten the needle clamp screw
2.upper tension may be to tight--try 3 to 5
3.thread may be hanging up in bobbin case--check area for loose threads or lint
???
check the thread take up lever-if the thread come off the thread take up lever that will jam the machine up--I've had it happen to me

turn the sewing machine completely off
rethread the machine the top thread & bobbin, if possible use a different spool of thread for top & bobbin

Janome 9000 won't turn on

The machine does not run.
1 A thread is caught in the hook race.
2 The control circuit is not working correctly. Turn the switch off and
turn it on again.
3 The machine is not connected to the power supply.
(I know duhh...but maybe your plug into the machine itself was loosened during your repairs.

Go to Janome.com and ask the professional Ask Jan, if none of these solutions work.
Hope this helps

Needle jams and breaks off

Needle jams....Thread is caught in the hook...solution...Remove the upper thread and bobbin case, turn the handwheel backwards and forwards by hand and remove the thread remands.

Needles breaks
1. Needles is damaged..Insert new needle
2. The needle is not correctly inserted....insert flat side towards the back
3. Wrong needle size for the fabric...Choose a needle to suit the thread and fabric.

Kenmore 385. 11607 needle jams into shuttle or shuttle race

I had the same problem with cleaning and jamming and this might sound silly, but when you're in the middle of trying to fix it remember to look up see that it is threaded up top. I did everything the pp's suggested and when they didn't work I realized the top thread wasn't still threaded around the tension thing anymore. After rethreading it, it worked fine. But I DID reduce the amount of thread on the bobbin at the same time as Drazil suggested.
