if the door light is not going out it is an indication that the door switch is not working. this would also cause it to not run because it thinks the door is still open.

Have you selected a program? Is water available? You haven't selected delay?
Then I suspect it may be a faulty door sensor, it wont start if it thinks the door is not shut. Try opening and reshutting the door.

i think you are talking about the drain pipe if so then it will not work proply unless its a mimium of 18,ins from the ground level,have you moved house and why has this problem started .What hose are yoy telling me about let me know and i will help you.adrian,,,,,,,,

Before proceeding to spin the timer does a check on the lid switch.

You should be able to fix the problem replacing the lid switch.

suggest you check the door lock mechanism. If it is not latching correctly when the door is closed,the program will not proceed.

Just a guess, but it sounds as if the machine doesn't think the door is shut. Try pushing against it as you turn it on, if that works, then I'd guess there's a door shut switch that needs adjusting.
