Hi all. I have a Panasonic 50ST30 plasma tv. About 6 months ago it just shut off one day and we have been getting a blinking light on the power indicator on the bezel. It blinks over and over 7 times. I have since bought another TV, but i really liked this one and hoped to be able to fix it (especially now, as Panasonic plasma's will be so hard to come by). Any ideas or suggestions on how to fix this would be a big help. Thanks!

Hi,
Unfortunately this appears to be a common issue developing with these Panasonic sets i.e the '7 blinks of death'!
Several customers are complaining about it. The problem is caused by one, both, or all of the following boards: SC board, SD board, and SU board.
Most commonly, the SC board is the one that has failed and because Panasonic have received so many complaints about this issue they are now agreeing to replace the SC board under extended warranty.
However this is not widely known amongst the general public and Panasonic have kept it very quiet.
I would suggest that you make contact with the Panasonic Concierge service centre. Make them aware that you are aware of the SC board issue and that there is an extended warranty on this and ask them to replace it.
However if it happens that one of the other boards has failed be aware that Panasonic are not covering these under warranty and you will be charged for the repair in this case.
The Panasonic Concierge service is available from here
