The cartridge connectors have somehow misaligned themselves. Try to pull the cartridges out as gently as possible. Ease them out slowly and carefully--don't yank too hard. Now, UNPLUG the printer. Wait five minutes, then replug and turn it back on again. It will tell you there are no cartridges or can't see them and expect you to insert the cartridges. If you have a set of old, empty cartridges handy, put them in first. Let the printer recognize them and tell you they are nearly empty. Then the printer will tell you to insert the new cartridges.

SOURCE: Epson C82 & C84 Printers will not laydown any ink!

Sorry but It uses Durabrite ink which tends to turn into hard gel if not printed at least once a week. Its less painful and expensive to just throw the printer out and buy a new one. I recommend the canon PIXMA ip3500. It lets you remove the printhead for cleaning unlike the Epson. If you want to try your luck at unclogging the printer heres a link to a unclogging kit but be warned that results are not guaranteed!

http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/kits/Epson/K89

The C82 in addition to clogging also has a problem where the waste ink hose which is supposed to remove excess ink (so the printer dosent get clogged) gets disconnected and so the printer clogs even more. The C84 had this glitch fixed but alot of good that did!

Thanks for reading!

Hi,
If you go to your printer properties, there should be a setting whereby you have to select the option to "PRINT USING BLACK CARTRIDGE ONLY". Make sure this option is selected, otherwise your printer will use ALL colors even if you only print black.
Let me know if you need any further assistance.
Best wishes,

What is the mk replace in kyocera printer

If this is a color printer, it uses CYMK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, blacK) ink cartridges.
MK would refer to the magenta and black cartridges.
Older (one line) displays had limited real estate.
tip

How to replace a brother catridge.

The Brother MFC-240C uses an individual cartridge for each color (black, yellow, cyan, and magenta). When one of the cartridges is empty or near empty, the printer will tell you to replace that ink cartridge.

You can buy the cartridges individually, or you can buy a pack of all three color cartridges or a pack of two black cartridges. To replace one of the ink cartridges, follow the steps below.
All four of the cartridges are located on the right front side of the printer, behind a gray plastic cover. Pull the cover forward from the side, where there is a slight cutout for your finger to grab. When the cover falls forward, you'll see the four ink cartridge holders, coded by color.

For the ink cartridge that you need to replace, push down on the purple handle for that color. The ink cartridge holder will open and fall forward, revealing the ink cartridge itself. Push down on the cartridge holder and the cartridge should pop out toward you a little bit. Grasp the cartridge and remove it.
Open the new cartridge and remove it from its wrapper. Discard the yellow cover, unless you plan to use it for the old cartridge.

Insert the new cartridge into the correct slot (from left to right, they go black, yellow, cyan, magenta) so that the word "brother" is right-side up and located toward the top of the cartridge. Once the cartridge is most of the way in, push the ink cartridge holder up by the purple handle until it snaps into place.

If you are replacing more than one color, repeat this procedure for each cartridge. Then, when you are finished, close the ink cartridge cover.

If you were out of ink or low on ink, the machine should recognize the new cartridge and perform the calibration process. If it doesn't automatically recognize the new cartridge, it will ask if you have changed one or more of the cartridges. Press "1" for Yes when it asks about a color that you replaced, or "2" for No if it asks about a color you didn't replace.

Once the printer comes back up to the ready state, print a color test page to verify that everything is working. If the test page comes out okay, the new cartridge is fine and you can either discard the old cartridge in the trash or save it to recycle. (But don't get rid of it before you are sure that the new cartridge is recognized and working correctly.)

WHILE TEST PRINT CYAN INK NOT SHOWING WHAT SHOULD I DO SIR

This issue will only occur if an ink cartridge(s) is or was installed inthe wrong position (slot) in the machine. When a cartridge is installed, the ink tube system is filled with the ink from the cartridges, to prepare the machine for printing. If the cartridge is inthe wrong position the tube will fill with the wrong color.

NOTE: If you just installed or replaced the ink cartridges and your printed documents are missing colors please refer to the solution - I just installed or replaced my ink cartridge and my printed documents aremissing colors. What can I do? Blank

To resolve this issue you will need to clean the print head.

NOTE: It may require 10 to 15 cleanings to clean the ink tubes and print head. During the cleaning process, the ink in the cartridge(s) will be consumed. Additional ink cartridges may be required to completethe cleaning process.

1. First verify the position of the ink cartridges:

a. Open the ink cartridge cover and check to make sure the ink cartridges are in the correct order.

b. Starting from the left side, the correct order is Black, Yellow, Cyan(blue), and Magenta (red).

- If the ink cartridges are installed in the correct order, close the ink cartridge cover and continue to STEP 2.

- If the ink cartridges are not in the correct order, remove the ink cartridges that are installed in the wrong position by pressing down on the release lever(s), located above the ink cartridge and remove the cartridge(s) from the machine.

Next, reinstall the ink cartridge(s) in the correct position in the machine by gently pushing the cartridge in until it clicks.

When all the cartridges are installed, close the ink cartridge cover.

2. After closing the ink cartridge cover, the LCD will prompt - Did youchange XXXX (XXXX = the color) This message will be displayed for ink cartridge that was removed. Press the - (Minus Key for No). This willkeep accurate data of how much ink is left in the cartridge.

1. Press the INK key.

2. Press OK to select Test Print.

3. Press OK to select Print Quality.

4. Press the COLOR START key.

5. Review the Check Sheet. The colors on the Check Sheet should be in a specific order: Black, yellow, Cyan (Blue) and Magenta (red).

b If the colors on the Check Sheet are not in the correct order, are missing dashes or blank or a color other than Black, Yellow, Cyan or Magenta printed press - (Minus Key for No) on the key panel and continueto STEP 6.

6. The machine will need to perform cleanings to flush out the incorrectcolor or dried ink from the ink tubes and print head.

a. The LCD will ask you BLACK OK. If black is fully printed and is the correct color, press + (Plus Key for Yes). If it#s blank, missing dashes or is the incorrect color, press - (Minus Key for No).

b. The LCD will ask you COLOR OK. If any of the 3 colors (yellow, cyan (blue), and magenta (red) are fully printed and are the correct color, press + (Plus Key for Yes). If it#s blank, missing dashes or is the incorrect color, press - (Minus Key for No).

c. The LCD will say START CLEANING + for YES and - for NO. Press + for YES to start cleaning. The machine will go through a cleaning cycle that will take approximately one to two minutes.

d. After the cleaning is completed, the LCD will say PRESS START. Pressthe BLACK START key. This will print out the print quality check sheet again for you to check and see if your print quality issue has been resolved or not

NOTE: If you wait 1 minute after the cleaning cycle is completed, the display will return to date and time. You will need to go back to STEP 3 to print the Print Quality Check Sheet again.

e. If the ink color order is correct and all of the dashes are present, press + on the key pad to select YES and continue to STEP 7.

If the colors on the Check Sheet are not in the correct order, are missing dashes or blank or a color other than Black, Yellow, Cyan or Magenta printed press - key to select NO. I want to install ink cartidges and do not know where to begin. I have misplaced my instructions

To install your Brother machine#s ink cartridges, follow the steps
listed below:

1. Make sure that the Brother machine#s power is turned on.

2. Open the ink cartridge cover. This cover is located on right-hand
side of the Brother machine#s front panel.

3. Pull down the four lock release levers. There is one lock release
lever for each ink cartridge.

4. Take the ink cartridge out of its protective bag.

5. Carefully remove the yellow protective cap from the ink cartridge.

- DO NOT touch the side of the ink cartridge covered by the yellow
protective cap.

- Take care when removing this cover to prevent spilling ink and
staining your hands and clothing.

- If the cartridge cover comes off when you open the bag, the cartridge
will NOT be damaged.

6. Install each ink cartridge in the direction of the arrow on the
label.

- Please note that each color has its own specific position. These
positions are indicated by the colors of the four lock release levers.
Do not install an ink cartridge in the incorrect position, as this can
cause print quality problems.

7. Lift each lock release lever and push it until it clicks into the
closed position.

8. Close the ink cartridge cover.

- If the LCD shows #Install Black,# #Install Cyan,# #Install Magenta,#
or #Install Yellow# after you install the ink cartridges, please verify
that you have installed the cartridges correctly.

NOTE:

* DO NOT remove the ink cartridges from the Brother machine unless you intend to replace them. If you do, it may reduce the quantity of ink left in the cartridge, which may cause the Brother machine to miscalculate the amount of remaining ink.

* DO NOT shake the ink cartridges. If ink stains your skin or clothing, wash the affected area with soap or detergent immediately.

* DO NOT repeatedly insert and remove the ink cartridges. Doing so may cause ink to seep out of your cartridges.

* If you mix the colors by installing an ink cartridge in the wrong
position, clean the print head several times after correcting the
cartridge installation.

* Once you open an ink cartridge, install it in the Brother machine and use it up within six months of installation.

* Use unopened ink cartridges by the expiration date listed on the
cartridge package.

* DO NOT dismantle or tamper with the ink cartridge. Doing so can cause ink to leak out of the cartridge

Supported HP ink cartridge part numbers The HP PSC 2100, 2170, and 2200 all-in-one series products use the ink cartridges listed in the table below. The HP 58 tri-color photo ink cartridge replaces the black ink cartridge for six-ink photo printing. Ink cartridges Part number HP 56 black ink cartridge (19 ml) C6656A HP 57 tri-color ink cartridge (17 ml) C6657A HP 58 tri-color photo cartridge* (17 ml) C6658A HP 27 low capacity black ink cartridge (10 ml) C8727A HP 28 low capacity tri-color ink cartridge (8 ml) C8728A * Replaces the black ink cartridge for six ink photo printing and includes cartridge holder. Replacing the ink cartridges The power must be turned ON to the all-in-one or the print carriage will not come to the center.
  1. Locate and raise the print cartridge access door on the front of the unit, just above the output tray. The print cartridge carriage will move into the middle of the access area. Figure 1: Raising the front access door and the ink cartridge latches c00224418.jpg
  2. Press down lightly on the top of the ink cartridge latch of the ink cartridge to be replaced and then pull the lower section of the latch toward you to unlatch the ink cartridge.
  3. Grasping the sides of the ink cartridge, pull the cartridge toward you to remove it as shown in Figure 2. Figure 2: Removing the cartridge after raising the latch c00224419.jpg
  4. Remove the replacement cartridge from its packaging, and touching only the black plastic, gently remove any tape covering the nozzles. Do not touch the gold-colored contacts. Figure 3: Removing the protective tape c00224420.jpg
  5. Holding the ink cartridge with the printed label up, slide the cartridges one at a time into the print carriage as shown in Figure 4. The black ink cartridge (HP 56 or HP 27) goes on the right side (with the gray latch) and the tri-color cartridge (HP 57 or HP 28) goes on the left side (with the blue latch). If the optional photo cartridge (HP 58) is installed for six-ink photo printing, it is installed in place of the black ink cartridge. Figure 4: Inserting the cartridge c00224421.jpg
  6. Place your hand on the latch as shown in Figure 5, with the thumb pulling the end of the latch toward you. While holding the end of the latch out, press down on the top of the latch until it stops and then release the lower portion of the latch with your thumb so that it catches under the tabs. Do not force the latches into place or damage to the unit might occur. Close the all-in-one after latching the ink cartridges in place. Figure 5: Latching the ink cartridges in place c00224422.jpg
  7. Close the print cartridge access door.
  8. A message will appear in the front panel display requesting that the ink cartridges be aligned. Press ENTER on the front panel to start the cartridge alignment. Two pages will print. Following the instructions printed on the second page, place the first page on the scanner glass in the lower-right corner and then press ENTER to finish aligning the cartridges. Remove the page from the scanner glass when complete.
Storing the option photo printing cartridge while not in use The optional photo print cartridge (HP 58) that may be purchased separately for six-ink photo printing includes an ink cartridge protector. The protector is designed to keep the photo cartridge from drying out when it is not in use and for holding and protecting the black cartridge when the photo cartridge is in use.
  • To insert a cartridge into the protector, slide it into the protector at a slight angle until it snaps in place.
  • To remove a cartridge from the protector, push down and back on the top of the protector to release the cartridge and then slide the cartridge out of the protector.
Figure 6: Inserting and removing ink cartridges from the ink cartridge protector c00224423.jpg Fixing error messages that appear after changing a cartridge After inserting the cartridge, one of the following messages appears:
  • Check the black (or color) cartridge
  • Replace the black (or color) cartridge
  • The wrong black (or color) cartridge is installed
These messages indicate that the ink cartridge is not making good electrical contact, is bad, or is the wrong cartridge. Complete the following steps to diagnose and correct the condition:
  1. Open the front of the unit to access the print cartridges (as shown in Figure 1).
  2. Remove the ink cartridge indicated in the message and inspect it.
  3. Verify that it is the correct part number and if it is, reinsert it.
  4. Close the lid to see if the problem is corrected.
  5. If the message is still displayed after a few seconds, remove the ink cartridge again.
  6. Unplug the power cord from the back of the unit.
  7. Clean the electrical contacts on the ink cartridge with a soft clean cloth, slightly dampened (not wet) with clean water. Each contact is very small and shaped like a rounded square. Figure 7: Cleaning the cartridge contacts c00224424.jpg
  8. Inside the HP all-in-one product, clean the contacts in the print carriage (the cartridge holder) with a clean cotton swab slightly dampened with clean water. Allow them to dry for five minutes before reinserting the cartridge(s) and turning on the printer. Figure 8: Contacts to be cleaned c00224425.jpg
  9. If the problem remains, replace the ink cartridge.
  10. If the problem still exists after trying all of the steps above, contact HP for assistance.
