This is usually due to the battery not holding very much charge (when fully charged) or a fall in the voltage of the laptop battery. Do you keep it plugged into the mains much - this can dramatically reduce the battery life. If you need it to run off battery I would consider replacing the batterty pack - try ebay
If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.
If the battery is removed you will see a X in the battery icon in the Tray Notification Area, indicating no battery present, your laptop is working off the AC cord/transformer. It will work this way forever. If you do not need to use a battery , just use plugged in. The idea of a laptop is it's protable, hence the battery, no AC option. The battery must be reaching the end of it's "lifecycle", replace the battery with a Good replacement with the EXACT same power specs. Beware of inexpensive batteries, they , sometimes don't work well and COULD be a fire hazzard, they are cheap for a reason.
Hi! Well for this one let me ask you first . Is the battery is beyond 1year? If it is then consider replacing your battery is the answer of that. But if not you can call your manufacturer as all the battery has it 1 year limited warranty. Just to let you know all the battery is consumable, sometimes it depends on how you use it .Hope this will help you. God Bless.
Laptop's batteries have their own gauge to tell it's condition. Once a battery is already messing up, the gauge will tell you that it has a problem and it needs replacement. The power in the battery won't last long anymore. Just observe it by removing the ac adapter.
Someday, your battery won't hold any power anymore. And you need to replace it with a new one.
Thank you for using fixya.

Maybe the life of the battery is almost exhausted. If the battery is charged everytime the laptop is used it will gradually decay in life and energy storage. They are best emptied and then recharged at least once a month. That will help to keep the life of the battery extended as long as possible.
That will be the laptop measuring the energy stored in your battery and it is less than the level it is set at. It doesn't mean it will fail imminently just that it is not as good as it was when new.
