A part of the front wheel carriage has been moved past it's stopping point by getting it caught under some object and forcing the handle down. Can't tell without examination whether or not the carriage is damaged or not, but it's a possibility.
I've had this happen a few times. It's usually because I need to loosen the needle clamp screw a little more to make sure I'm getting the needle PAST the screw and far enough up in the channel so that it can be caught by the screw. I hope this works. If it does, please let Fixya know by rating my solution!
Good luck and happy sewing.
Hi, If water was left in the tub when it was being used for wet pick-up, and wasn't emptied before using again for dry, you have sucked water up in and on motor windings. About the only thing you can do at this point, is to let the motor dry for a day or so and see if it continues. Check to see if something didn't get caught in the motor that may be making this noise. I hate to tell you but you may loose the motor. Time will tell. If you still have good suction, I would continue to use it until it dies on you. Check for any debri and dry it good. Keep me posted. Best of luck to you, Shastalaker7
Most upright steam cleaners like Hoover and Bissell, you put in the hot water, bissell does have a heater, but it only helps get the hot water a alittle hotter. But a model number would help.
