The Dyson DC35 (and probably other) battery packs appear to have a 15Amp fuse in the negative lead inside the battery pack. I opened my battery pack (not a job for the faint-hearted) and found the item that looks like a resistor (I'm an electronics tech) marked 15A was open circuit. I replaced it and the DC35 is working again.

If the power cells are operational and it will not start; then either the motor is dysfunctional or something is jammed in the intake module. A conduction test with instrumentation can indicate if the motor is the problem, the power cells are not fully charged, or you have a short circuit. Check Fuses.

SOURCE: Hi, this is our third Dyson DC-16.. the Trigger

How are you charging your battery? Every battery has a memory. If you dont let it die the first come times then charge to full the battery will assume 40% is 100%.

Testimonial: "Thank you for your solution, but we've had it at least a year.. it stays on charge when not in use.cleaned the connections.working better, not 100%.."

I have a new Dyson V8 Absolute When I try to charge it nothing happens. When I pull the trigger I have one flashing blue light. HELP

not trying to be a smart a** but which of the two do you have?
    1. A flashing blue light indicates that the battery is running low on charge.
    2. A fast flashing blue light indicates no power or a temporary fault (e.g. check filter or for blockages).

FYI....A solid blue light indicates that the battery is charging. No light indicates the battery is fully charged. A solid amber light indicates that the battery is not charging due to a temporary fault (e.g. too hot/cold). A flashing red light indicates that there is a fault, call the Dyson Helpline.
    Best to you.

    Dc31 flashes green

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

Usually if the indicator light flashes green when the trigger is pulled, this means the machine needs to be charged. If you have had your machine connected to the charger assembly for over 3.5 hours and continue to see the flashing green light, this could mean the machine isn't recharging correctly.

In order for us to diagnose which part is at fault we'd need to take you through some simple diagnostic checks when you have your machine to hand. You can reach our experts directly on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

We'll look forward to speaking with you.

Light blinks when i pull trigger

Hi Philip, it's Jack at Dyson.

If you've recently replaced the battery and ensured it's fully charged, and you're still noticing a flashing indicator light, there may be a fault with the main body assembly.

We'd like to take some further details to confirm if this is the case. If a replacement part is required, we can also check whether this is covered under your vacuum's 2-year warranty.

You can reach our experts directly on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU). Please have your machine to hand when you call so we can run you though some quick diagnostic checks.

DC44 Animal Cordless Vacuum power cuts on and off while trigger is pulled

This doesn't address the intermittent power cut offs...power cuts off intermittently and you have to keep recycling the power 'trigger' to get it to work...total PIA

There is a small magnet on the pre- filter that triggers a switch. Pull it apart and you'll see the magnet but the switch is behind plastic.. Make sure it is seated well against the motor unit.
