Hello ! I have a Sony DAV-DZ640K Home Theater System, the problem is that I can increase and decrease sound levels for individual speakers, like i am able to increase and decrease surround (back) speakers volume, same for subwoofer and front speakers. The problem is that the front speakers (tall boy) volume is only letting me decrease the volume but does nothing when i try to increase like it won't go above '00' but goes down to '-01' '-02' but would not go above '00' like '+01"....hope you understand my problem. Cannot increase (raise) the front speaker volume.Thank You

SOURCE: no sound from back surround speakers

I resolved the problem by going in the dec mode (page 49 of manuel) and changing the setting to Pro Logic. That did the trick. Good Luck all.

SOURCE: sony home theater system started blinking protect

Protect mode will kicking whenever a fault is detected.

Causes that can start protect mode are:

Electrostatic harges on internal circuits.
Leave the unit unplugged for power for one hour or so, this will allow discharge.

Bad speaker wiring.
Check speaker wiring, try unplugging and plugging back, or start after removing one speaker at the time.

Internal fault.
Internal fault is the natural cause for protect mode. If all the above did not work, then the problem is a blown component or an internal fault. In this case the unit must be taken apart , tested and repaired by an experienced person.
If the unit is less than one year old, or if you want to get service, call Sony at the phone number listed on the product documentation.

Regards.

Remote is working ,but DVD player button is not working and I could not eject my disc from dvd player.

DVD player drawers are generally driven by a small rubber belt that either falls off or breaks. Easily fixed by just looking inside the unit and replacing the inexpensive belt.

My DAVHDX576WF surround system is connected to my TV by HDMI, but I hear no sound. The home theater test/setup is audible, radio is audible, but nothing from the TV

Which direction do you expect audio to be flowing: from or to the TV? The HDMI is an outbound connection for video. Page 71 describes how to enable the DVD AUDIO ONLY if you really want TV speakers to be competing with the DAV.

Sony Home Theater System DAV-HDX277WC - I get sound and video when playing a DVD, but no voices. Tried many different movies. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Verify that all speakers work for test tones first. The center carries most of the dialog. It's in the manual, as is your symptom (page 101).

Sony DAV-DZ660 Theatre system. How can I change the output volume and tone for each speaker please?

there should be a speaker set up button on your remote, it will play "white noise" through each speaker in your system, one spearker at a time, as each speaker plays you can adjust its volume, the idea being to balance the system to sound good from your sitting position. try to get each speaker to be appriximately the same volume level. If you have the manual for this system, this setup should be listed in the index or somewhere.

Hello catch22
Find Amp-Menu button on remote and try another Amp Selection. Pro Logic & DTS wont give sound in all speakers while in-put signal is analog.
