Since the light comes on, but nothing else runs, check the defrost timer. If it is stuck in the defrost cycle, the light will come on, but nothing else works. BGA
You already know it can be a costly mistake. Had it happen in my own home!!!!
Several things can be wrong:
1. The Fuse inside the unit
2. The High Voltage Capacitor
3. The Power Diode
4. (bad news) The Magnetron.
There is an RF window that can be bad also as when a microwave is run with no load it can be burned. It is supposed to help protect the Magnetron from reverse flow RF and help disperse the RF inside the unit.
The next question is: "Are you going to talke this by yourself or have it repaired?" We can you advise on what to do but there are some hazards that you need to be aware of if your going top give it a go..... Just reply here. Thanks.
I just bought the same microwave, and mine is doing the same thing. Did you ever figure out if it was the oven or the outlet? My old microwave works just fine.
Why the "you stupid crooks" thing? You come on here looking for something for nothing, then bad mouth those who take the time to hhelp you at their expense. You are barking up the wrong tree fella. Fixya .com has an address. File your grievance with them. If you can handle the cost of postage. Now, this is free advice but it will cost me the privilage of helping those who want and need the help. Good Luck and have a happy and carefree holiday. I wish you the best the holidays can bring. My Belling BEL-CJ/SS25 Microwave / oven / grill has recently developed a problem. Every time I close the door the turntable starts rotating, even when I'm not using it. It doesn't make a noise, and doesn't seem to be going into any cooking setting, and the light doesn't come on, but it turns until I open the door, when the light comes on and the turntable stops turning. This has only recently started happening, and nothing else seems to be wrong with it, Is this safe or should I get rid of it and buy a new one. The guarantee has expired so repair may be cost prohibitive.
