I do not hear sound from my acer laptop speaker!

I do not hear any sound (including system sounds) from my laptop speaker. But I only can hear from my headphone. I've already did system restore, restart computer and reinstall audio device. Before the problem start I call my friend using microphone until it started the problem.

Acer 5760 low volume

Some program have poor sound quality. Laptops are not known for great sound, the speakers are small by design. I use a Bose SoundDock external speaker system. Take a look : http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/shop_online/digital_music_systems/sounddock_systems/sounddock/index.jsp

Check the sound is not muted. (Click on speaker icon at the bottom right of your screen. Move the slider all the up with your mouse. Ensure the small box is cleared)
Also, right click on computer on the start menu and select hardware tab, and open the device manager. Look for sound device and right click on that. Check the drivers are ok for the sound chip you have. You may go to the Acer website if you can, locate support for your model and download and install fresh drivers for your OS if they can be found. Reply here if you try that and don't know how.
You may try an external speaker / headphones connected to appropriate socket on the back of your computer if it's a desktop. If you hear sound it might be that the internal speaker has gone wrong (does your computer give one beep when you turn it on ? this is telling you most things are ok including your sound system. Open a cmd window and type 'beep' the computer should beep I think)

there are many other things it might be, and more if you don't have the as-purchased set-up, but that's enough for now

My new Acer Aspire one D 250 laptop has a very low volume output . All the volume controls are up including wave output but with no success

Right click on the speaker icon in the task bar, lower right hand corner of the screen.
Select "Adjust Audio Properties."
In the popup box, go down to "Speaker Volume." Click "Advanced"
In the new pop-up, make sure that "Laptop speakers" is selected. Click all the OKs you need to in order to establish that setting and clear out of "Adjust audio properties."
Now you SHOULD have much better sound from your speakers.
For some reason, my D250 keeps defaulting to "Stereo headset" which produces much lower volume sounds when a headset is not inserted. So low that you can't watch and hear a video through the speakers and understand what is being said. Once you switch to "laptop speakers" you'll be able to hear stuff. It won't be high volume, these things just don't put out high volume, but it will be reasonably audible, if this was the problem.

Aspire laptop speakers

Are you able to hear the sound when the headsets are used I think that cleaning up the speakers will not help a lot. If you can hear the sound from the headset but not from speakers, then I would suspect that the speakers are bad, the speakers are unplugged or some sound circuit on the system board is damaged. Try to reconnect the speakers first. The speakers are connected directly to the system board through 2 little connectors located below the keyboard connector.?
