Atomic clocks have antennas that are directional and reception may be improved by turning the antenna to increase signal strength. Place the radio controlled clock along a wall or near a window that faces towards Fort Collins. Locate atomic wall clocks at least 4-8 feet away from computer monitors.
Is it a wave scepter? Place it in the window facing Fort collins, with the 12 pointing to Fort collins. Keep it away from metal which interferes with radio signal. Put it in place in the window before going to bed at night. When it picks up the signal the hands spin to match corrected digital time.
Use internet net to pull up Casio manual, which is way easier to read than the tiny booklet.
The Casio wave scepter watches often got put on sale because the booklet was thick and the sales staff inside their steel shell stores could never prove how it worked. I bought 3 from Sears at a low price.
Ok, I am in northern ontario, and I set the watch around a non metal tube or box - like a paper towel roll or small pop bottle and set it on a south or west facing window ledge. Works best on a top floor. Position the watch so the 12 is pointing to Fort collins.
My casio at this distance doesn't pick up the radio signal until sometime between midnight and 6 am. It has a setting that reveals if it did sync and reset the time, and will show at what time it sync'ed.
casio watch manuals are available online. As long as you have set what time zone you are in, it will set the time.
If you are in the US or Canada the signal is coming from Fort-Collins, Colorado. If you are too far or there are atmospheric perturbations along the way, at the times the watch is in automatic receive , the watch may not receive a strong enough signal to synchronize itself with the atomic clock signal. The watch is not always able to do so. Read the manual where it is suggested that you put the watch on a window sill, the dial facing outward with 12 at the bottom. Do not move the watch when it is trying to receive a signal. If you have a signal strength meter, orient the watch so that the signal is as high as possible.
Hi,Once radio-controlled watches have been set to the relevant time zone, they always display the exact local time. All CASIO radio watches receive signals almost anywhere in Europe. Some models even receive signals in North America, parts of Canada and Mexico (the radio tower in Fort Collins sends signals for a radius of up to 3,200 km) and even in Japan or China. Here you can learn about the technology that makes it possible, and about how your watch picks up the time.To make sure if you are in the radius pls visit to URL below..http://www.casio-radio-controlled.com/euro/technology/ Hope this helps!Take care and please Remember to rate/vote and give me 4 Thumbs Up for me to continue for Helping out the Community :) Thanks
You need to manually adjust or set the hands to the home position as they are not where the watch thinks they should be. This can happen when you bring your watch close to a strong magnetic field. Look in the manual to do this. Afterwards your watch should set to the correct time.
I had the same problem following recent daylight savings time (DST) change. The watch has three DST mode settings (ON, OFF, and AUTO). You get to the setting mode by pressing and holding the "adjust' button until the city time zone indicator starts to flash. Then press the "mode" button. This should give you the DST setting. Now press the "receive" button to cycle through the ON, OFF, and AUTO modes for DST. I set it for AUTO. I then existed the setting mode by pressing "adjust" again.
Now you can initiate a manual update of the time by pressing and holding the receive button. Put your watch by a window and make sure the signal strength indication is showing level 4 (full picture of satellite dish on my version). Give it a few minutes to down load new time.
After doing this the watch corrected itself and now shows correct time. Other wise I assume you could set the DST function to ON or OFF as well depending on whether you need to add or subtract the hour from the time.
