You can download a Windows 7 one key program to do this from Lenovo support. Choose 32 or 64 Bit version and Read the text about loosing data and drivers first.

Software issue. Camera may not be compatible with the OS that you are using. Bet that if you go back to the original OS your camera will work.
Upgrading unnecessarily is fraught with consequences.

My lenovo ideapad y560's monitor won't open. the monitor is pitched black.

Hi thelzy,

I see that your Lenovo Y560 is having issues showing no Video, you mentioned that you only get a Black screen when booting.

I am assuming that there is still power on the machine but no video at all, Just to ask do you still see the Lenovo Splash screen? if not then we can try doing a power cycle on the machine.

* Remove the battery on the system unhook the Power Cord/AC adapter as well then press and hold down the power button of your Y560 Laptop for about 15 seconds then let go.

*After Doing the Power Cycle connect the AC Adapter again but leave the battery out for the time being then turn the compute ON, check to see if it will show the Lenovo Splash screen if it does then we're in progress and should show windows Loading up on the LCD screen.

*If it does not show the lenovo Splash screen then most probably the BIOS screen never showed as well on the issue.

*Connect the battery back n the machne turn it ON again check if it will show anything on the screen, if not then see below.

*We can try connecting an external mnitor to the system using a VGA connection it should show us the Screen on the external monitor if not then it means that Windows as well is not booting on your Laptop.

*Check the indicator Lights on the Laptop, one of the Lights will be a cylinder icon on the Laptop check if there is any activity from that light if there is no Light or any avtivity to any of the indicator lights then your Y560 is having issue with the Motherboard.

I hope this info Helps.

Have a nice day.

I have y560 lenova idea pad with TV tuner.i want BIGTV connect to laptop

Hi krahul17,

I see that you want to connect a BigTV to your Y560 Laptop, I can give you a few details on what you can do to conenct a bBig TV to your Laptop.

- Your Y560 has an HDMI port on it and you can use HDMI to connect an LCD TV to your Y560 Laptop.

- In Windows7 lower right side of your task bar you will see the speaker icon right click on it and it will give you options, see below image.

mvincentc_20.jpg
- Click on Playback Devices

- You should see the sound window inside the window you will see a list of audio devices on your system, you should see your HDMI first on the List with a Picture of an LCD TV next possibly will be your speaker which is set as the Default device the last should be Realtek High Definition audio device.

- Right click on the HDMI and select set as Default Device once set as default device your HDMI video and audio should work but if you connected your Laptop to the TV before you changed this settings you will need to restart you Laptop for the changes to take effect on your system and also make sure that the input for your TV is also set to HDMI to make everytihng work.

- And if you will be going back to using you Laptop only you may need to go back to the sound window to set the speakers as your Default device to make the audio come out from your Laptop Speakers.

I hope that this will be of help regarding your concern, have a nica day.

My lenovo y560 i5 hangs every hour. nothing i can do, only pushing the power button for 10 seconds helps me to restart the computer. what could it be?

You can try to go Safe Mode with Networking by restarting the system then tap F8. Then you need to download the latest graphic driver on Lenovo Website. Click here. and Latest driver from ATI. Click here. This is a known issue with y560 using switchable graphic.

Thanks for using Fixya.

I have a 47 inch phillips hdtv and a hp elite cpu the hp eliute has a blue ray player there hooked up though a hdmi cord the tv starts up windows and shows safemode but when it goes to the password screen...

tv starts up windows and shows safe-mode. That right there is your problem, windows defaults the monitor down to regular 640 mode. I will cut out the hdmi since that is not a monitor. Safe-mode is used to trouble shoot your computer and it loads just barely the drivers you need to see and work with the computer. You will have to get the computer to boot up normally then proceed from there, also you will have to set up your video card to output hdmi.
