SOURCE: memory card error

Are you formatting the camera or the memory card? You should do both. Also, make sure of the position of the slide switch on the side of the card.

My olympus cam t-100 Showing d error of write protect, actually i was replace my card last nite from my cell to cam or i can also delete all pics from cam. how can i recover back same like before i do

Look at your memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

When trying to use camera, phone says phone memory full chose app to free memory

I believe your micro SD is corrupted, but don't worry there's a way on how to fix it. SD cards are miniature storage devices used in portable electronics. If the card gives you an error that says it is corrupt, do not be alarmed. You can remove the corruption error by formatting the drive. When you do this, you will erase all of the faulty data off the card, allowing you to save new information.

1.Slide the microSD card into an SD card converter. The converter comes with all microSD cards.
2.Place the card in the computer's SD slot with the metal pins facing downward.
3.Click on "Start," then "My Computer."
4.Right-click on the drive that is labeled "SD." Left-click "Format."
5.Assign the file format to "FAT16," then press "Format."

I hope you may find it very helpful.

I have a JXD661 with me. Whenever I insert the SD card that I bought along with it, the player gives me an error message that states ''Access SD card error''.

Hi dude utkarsh...
You did not mention what size SD memory card you are using, according to the website below, you can only use up to a 4 GB SD card.
If your using over a 4 GB card then the player will not work properly.
If you are using a 4 GB card or less, try using another card in the machine, it may be a malfunction in the card you bought.
Please take time to rate me

Hello

OK, if the memory card itself is locked, you might sometimes get this error code. All you need to do is to take out the memory card and switch the lever on the left side to the unlock.

If the error is still displayed after you did the above, you might want to try the card in another camera.

If the card works in another camera . the problem is with your card reader in your camera.

If you open you sd slot and look inside with a sharp light , you should be able to see on the left side of the slot there is a little copper or spring steel lever switch. This switch work as follows:

1. When no card is inserted / no write protection , the switch is open and thus the protection is off.
2. When locked card is inserted , the tab is depressed and tells the camera that the card is lock.

Contrary to popular belief ,the little tab on the sd card is not an electronic switch and does not physically influence the card operation itself. If you put a locked card into a camera without a sd lock switch , you would still be able to use the card normally.

It is incredible difficult to fix this switch because of space limitations in the sd card. Look into the sd slot and if you can see the switch , use a needle to pull the little tab down toward the base of the camera by about 2mm or until it works being careful not to bend it.

If this does not resolve your problem , there might be a short in the switch circuit and the camera will need to be disassembled to resolve this error. This should cost no more than $50.

Please feel free to contact me if you need further information

Kind regards
Andrea

I keep getting the error msg memory card cannont be read

Your camera is only supporting: SD/MMC up to 1 Gigabyte

The card that you currently have might be high speed. All should be sorted if you change the SD card to the supported MMC SD card up to 1G. There is a lever on the SD card this one might need to be changed.

The card that you currently have might be faulty. Please try another card.
You might also need to switch the camera over to saving pictures directly onto the SD card.1: Menu, Cam settings, Chose AUTO or SD card option Press OK

Note: If the SD card isn't in the camera or is unreadable the camera will automatically go back to saving you taken pictures on the internal memory.

Sandisk memory card

Has this card EVER worked with your camera? Since you didn't mention the model number of the Canon, it's possible that you have a compatiblity issue here. Most 4GB SD cards these days are actually SDHC cards, which store memory differently (in sectors, like a hard disc drive, rather than bytes, like your main memory). All SDHC compatible cameras also support SD cards, but cameras sold before the SDHC standard was created will not support SDHC memory cards.

There's a chance that Canon has a firmware upgrade to solve this. You would have to look on the Canon USA web site for this, based on the model number of your camera.

Message: Memory Card Error - Memory Card Parameter Error on 4gb SDHC card

I recently bought a DMC-TZ3 and have been researching memory cards. Several sites sell cards with the camera and list the card type. I would suggest buying one of these cards. Any cards larger than 2gb must be SDHC type SD cards. There appear to different types of SDHC cards, 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0. Check out Wikipedia.org for a description. 2.0 cards are not compatable for devices developed prior to 2.0 so that may be the reason for the camera problem. So far I haven't seen anything that states what type SDHC card the camera requires. I found a computer memory site that that sells memory that they say will work. There may be others.
