How many square feet of floor do I need if it's 9.3 feet one way and 11.7 feet the other way

Good morning Lisa!

There are likely two or three answers here.

Multiplying out directly, you get 9.3 x 11.7 = 108.81 sq feet.

But, the only floor covering that goes down like that is paint.
If you are putting down 12x12" tile, then you'll need to go 10 wide in the 9.3 foot direction (with cut tiles for the last .3 foot), and 12 long in the 11.7 direction, so you'll need 120 x one square foot tiles.

If it's tile of another dimension, divide the dimension into the 9.3 and into the 11.7, then round the answer up to the next whole number for each, and multiply together. 2x2 foot tiles would go 4->5 times for 9.3, and 5->6 times for 11.7, to give you 5x6=30 tiles x 4sq ft/tile = 120 sq feet.

If you're doing wooden flooring, you'll do a similar calculation based on the width of the wood laths, divided into one dimension and rounded up, times the linear feet needed in the other direction. If the boards are 4 inches wide, running parallel to the long wall, 4" goes into 9.3 feet 27 times, so round to 28. 28 x 4" = 9.333 feet You need 11.7 linear feet the other way. 11.7 x 9.333 = 109.2 sq feet. Though you won't likely be cutting 11.7 foot long pieces off of some piece as long as a full tree, so divide the board length into 11.7 and round up. If it comes in 3 foot sections, then 3 goes into 11.7 three times, round up to 4, so you'll have 28 widths x 1/3 foot per width x 12 feet length per strip = 112 sq feet.

Hoping this is helpful. good luck!

How do we convert 257 sq ft into linear ft?

cannot be done. linear feet is just one dimension(length) and square feet is two dimensions(i.e., length and width). almost like asking how long is a gallon.

How many cubic feet is 312 sq. ft.

There is no relation between square anything to cubic anything.
If you want to calculate how many cubic feet 312 sq tiles are, you need to tell how this the tiles are.
Cubic is length x width x hight.
square is length x width.
All in the same dimension so even 1/4 of an inch, should be added in feet. with 0,00xx I don't want to calculate in these old measures anymore.

1904 sq feet how do I convert this to linear feet for roofing

sq feet is the length of the material multiplied by the width of the material. Linear feet is just the length of the material. So ,because roofing material is measured in the length measurement ( the width is pre-set coverage) if you are paying for a sheet that is 20ft long and covers 3ft you will be paying for 20 linear ft
IF you buy 4 x 20 ft sheets you will be be paying for 4 sheets and they will cover an area of 240 sq ft ( each sheet covers 60 sq ft so 4 sheets =240 sqft
to get the answer to your question you will have to know the length of the sheet and the width so that the area covered by a sheet can be known
Assuming that it is a roof area you want to cover, measure the length of the sheet required to cover the length of span ( gutter to ridge cap) and the width of the roof ( front to back) and divide that by the width of a sheet will give you the number of sheets required. Now multiply that number of sheets by the length of 1 sheet will give you the linear ft of the area to be covered.

9 linear feet equal how many sq ft?

It equals zero square feet.
Linear feet is only one dimension (length). You need 2 dimensions to calculate square feet. In other words, you need *width* also.
But IF you're asking how many square feet is 9 linear feet (long) by 9 linear feet (wide), then the answer is 81.

Republic EZ broadcast spreader...what number to use when lining up the mark to calibrate the spreader...lost the instruction book

Hello, to solve your question about what number to use to calibrate your broadcast spreader, please use the step-by-step instructions below:

1. If you don't already know the square footage of your lawn, please walk off or measure, multiplying the length by width. For example, my lawn is 100 ft wide by 100 ft long; this equals 10,000 sq. ft.
2. Use this figure (30,000 sq ft) to determine how much fertilizer, insecticide, fungicide,apply etc., to purchase and apply.
3. To calibrate the spreader for applying your product at the correct rate, first weigh and hold out an amount of product to cover a pre-determined test area; for example, enough for a 200 sq ft space.
4. Because most lawn fertilizers are packaged to cover areas in 1000 sq ft increments, it's easy to figure how many 1,000 sq ft applications you need for your lawn.
5. Set your spreader to 3 and measure 1/5 of the recommended application on your product, to cover a 200 sq ft area.
6. Use your spreader to cover this 200 sq ft area.
7. If there is product remaining in the hopper after walking this 200 sq ft area, increase the setting number and move to another test area, repeat steps 5 and 6.
8. If there wasn't enough product to cover the test area, back the number down, move to another test area, and repeat steps 5 and 6, until you finish with product and lawn test area at the same time.
9. Remember to never leave product in your hopper because many chemicals are corrosive and can destroy the moving parts, making the spreader inoperable.

I hope this helps!

In algebra formula,,,,carpeting cost $20.00 sq. yd you carpet a room that has a width of 15 ft, for $ 800.00 ,,what is the lenght of the room

Here is the Solution:

1. Convert 15 ft into yards. 1 yard = 3 feet
=> 15 ft = 5 yd

2. Find the area of the given room. The cost for given room is given, and cost for carpeting 1 sq. yd is given. So,
800/20 = 40 {i.e. 40 sq. yd (area of the given room)}

3. Now, Length * Width = Area
=> x * 5 = 40 [Taking Length = x yd]
=> x = 40/5
=> x = 8 yd
=> x = 8 * 3 ft
=> x = 24 ft

So, Length of the given room is 24 ft (8yd).

I hope this solved your problem (in time).
