Gas is turned on? Pilot button is in pilot position? Push and hold pilot button down, keep holding it down, push igniter many times, while keep holding down pilot button, keep holding until pilot lights. May take several minutes.
You turn the valve knob to "Pilot", push it in, and light it (use a long butane lighter-it's easiest) and keep the button pushed in for 20 seconds-1 minute. If the pilot stays lit, turn the dial to "On".
do you have the pilot light burning if not then you have to get in burning first Put knob in pilot position push down and hold for at least 30 seconds or longer then if there is an igniter push and release it push and release till pilot light comes on .Continue to hold pilot light button down for another 10 seconds or so, release pilot button and turn button to on or up a number or set T stat Main flame should come on and burn
there should be an access panel on the bottom of the heater, it should open easily, don't force it,you'll see the gas valve on which is a knob, it says off, on, pilot, there also should be lighting instructions inside the panel, if not, find where you light the pilot, then find the pilot on, it will be a button on the valve or when you turn valve to pilot it will push in,now turn valve to pilot, lite pilot, push button/valve,hold 15 SEC
In general, large button from gas valve push in & hold 20-30 secs at same time push electronic lighter/ignition button to light pilot. Remember to hold in only gas button. the pilot light heats up a thermo couple [u can see this in the flame] and when hot enough allows the main gas through and the pilot to remain on. If not then either thermo couple not heated for long enough or it may need replacing
Most commercial ovens have a manually lit pilot. There will be a button somewhere on the range that you will need to push in so gas will come out of the pilot assembly. While holding this button you will the light the pilot and will need to hold the button in for about a minute or two until the pilot stays on after you release the button. Look around the bottom panel, top panel or side panels(you may need to remove one) to find the button. they are usually red and may not look like a button. If you find the button and the pilot does not stay lit then the thermocouple might be bad. If you push the button and do not get any gas coming out of the pilot then there might be debris in the pilot assembly causing the gas not to come out. In that case you could try and tap the assembly or blow with compressed air to clear it. But in most cases you will need to remove the pilot assembly and use a really fine wire(like a metal tie-strap minus the coating) to clear the pilot orfice.
you should have to push the dial or a seperate button in to manually open the pilot gas valve. If you find this not to be true and you have a spark either the pilot burner assembly needs to be pulled and cleaned.
This process is best performed at night so you can see the pilot light in action.
Important...*ensure all hot water taps are off*
1) press and hold pilot button (extreme left button)
2) press spark button (extreme right button) while holding in pilot button from step 1
3) with the pilot button still held in, observe the pilot light through the window. if there is no pilot light now, your heater is busted.
4) if you see the pilot light above, very quickly *completely* remove your finger from the pilot button while at the same time pressing in the flame button (second from left - this button will not work until you completely remove your finger form the pilot button so timing is important) - the pilot light should stay lit.
5) if it goes out or your timing is off, repeat these 4 steps until it lights.
This could take a number of tries and can be quite frustrating until you can get the timing of step 4 right. Good Luck!
Turn the knob on the gas valve to pilot, push in and hold. You can push the red button to light the flame, but I always use a flame lighter of some sort, just because its faster and the spar-ker may not be working. Anyway, push the button in, and hold it after the pilot flame is on for a minute or so then let up on the button. If it stays on turn the gas knob to on and that's it.
