My A/C (Carrier weathermaker 8000 hybrid) is not cooling properly

My Carrier weathermaker 8000 unit is on my attic. The air conditioner seems to work except when it is over 75 outside. I cannot get the temperature in my house below 85 (only about 80 right now). The unit has an ez-trap (not the cause), the drain pipe is clean, and the capacitors have been replaced. Could I have a leak and if so, how can I verify that? I have all 4 ceiling fans on and my temperature inside is still 85. Sometimes it blows cool air and sometimes it feels warm.

Set the t-stat low and let it run for 5 minutes , stick a thermometer in the return air closest to the unit as possible until you get a good reading , then stick the thermometer in the cold air supply again closest to the indoor unit as possible let sit until it stops going down in temp.
this is called your temp difference and it should be atleast a 14deg. F difference from in to out. if its lower you have a refrigerant problem, Let me know how it goes.

Where is the drain pan on a carrier weathermaker 8000?

Hello, the drain line will be located under the unit near the condenser coil. Sometimes it can get blocked and the condensate will settle toward the front of the unit and leak from the unit. Also, make sure the unit is tilted back in the window about a 1/4 inch aswell.

Heater is on firing up- everything seems ok but there is nogas-goes thru the cycle with igniter glow orange but does not ignite- there doesnt seem to have any gas present to ignite weathermaker 8000

the igniter has to have proper omhos to open gas valve.
recommend replacing igniter. be careful not to touch new igniter with bare hands. oils in the skin of your hands will cause the igniter to get too hot and burn out quick
