Dishwasher is tripping RCD, can it be repaired?

not necessary-- yet-- to buy a new unit
tripping the rcd is an indication of earth leakage which could amount to water in the wall plug across pins, moisture across the power board, water in the motor, faulty heater element
what you need is an accredited electrician to run tests on the system to find the reason for the earth leakage that is tripping the rcd
the rcd works from microvolts and operates in nano seconds to prevent electrocution of the operator
testing before buying may save heaps of cash

My Hotpoint ultima super silent dishwasher blocked in the night and tripped the fuseboard. I have cleared the blockage but whenever I turn the mains back on it keeps tripping the fuse before it can resume...

also check for a burned heating element, once you locate the element in the lower dish washer look i over for damage , you could also remove the wires from the lower element and then try ad see if it works ifthe unit works
replace the element
you have a short somewhere just trying to eleminate some items

Washer/drier tripping rcd!

Hi.
Sounds like you have a short or an earth fault.
if it trips right away, try it with the motor disconnected, if it still trips then you will probably have to call an engineer..

Smeg dishwasher tripping out fuseboard

Has the door got any heavier, as mine started tripping the electrics when a spring broke and short circuited the connections.
f so you will have to get the spring out, from the underneath is best and replace it if you want the door to work correctly again. On mine the second one went a month later.

Tripping out RCD

i had this probem and apparently there's a 'float switch' in the bottom of the machine. This switch is a safety cut off and when activated can not just stop the machine but trip the electrics in the house. the reason for it activating is when food clogs up the drainage bit water can not drain and fills up the bottom of the machine. this then activates the 'float switch' as a kind of safety cut off.
the way to sort it is to disconect the machine from the mains and drain and water. empty the clogged up food from the drain bit. then tip the machine back and a load of water will pour out (may need a load of towels for this bit or take the machine out the back and do it)
once this is done, plug it all back in and give it a try - works for my machine, good luck.
