Why does my samsung fridge leak water under the fridge when I use my water dispensor?

hi Todd.
Problem: It's leaking water. ... Cause: A blocked defrost drain is one of the most common causes of water leakage. This happens when food particles or other debris clogs up the drain hose, which can lead to ice buildup and, eventually, water leakingout of the freezer and refrigerator.

Why is my refrigerator leaking water from the bottom? If the refrigerator is leaking water it's possible that the refrigerator has a clogged or freezing defrost drain. If the defrost drain freezes the defrost water will overflow the drain and drip down to the bottom of the compartment, If enough water accumulates in the bottom it can run out onto the floor.17 May 2013SOLVED: Water leak in refrigerator? - Refrigerator - iFixithttps://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/128713/Water+leak+in+refrigeratorSearch for: Why is my refrigerator leaking water from the bottom?

My Samsung RS253BAWW has been collecting water underneath the bottom drawer for some time now. It eventually winds up in the drip tray underneath and then runs out onto the floor. I've replaced the...

Depends if there is plastic tubing running inside fridge compartment. Shut off water to fridge. If that stops it you will have to look inside to see if there is visible plastic water tubing or if you can get to it from inside the fridge. Maybe the water line has a defect or got pinched and somehow split. Then turn on water, find leak and splice in a replacement section.

I heard a dripping sound and discovered it was coming from the back of the freezer. I also noticed the infrared receiver light is flashing red...what's up?

The common thing is the water line hook up to the back of the frige. First find the shut off. It is usually under the sink or behind the fridge. Roll the fridge out slowly so as not to damage line further. Also roll it straight as not to damage floor. Once u turn off the water line listen to make sure the water drip has stopped if it stops thats the problem. The line is very easy and simple to change yourself. You can get the plastic ones or copper one at the home centers.

RS253BAWW Samsung Side fridge water leak

I would not be too alarmed about this. Most refrigeration systems will drip water off of the condenser coils while in use. This can most often be seen by cars that appear to "leak" only when the a/c is on. All that this "leakage"is is condensation. This is the same reason that window air conditioners need to have a slight downward tilt to the outside. This is also why they unfortunately, often freeze up.

If you're only noticing leakage while the refrigerator is running then I would bet even money that this is what's happening especially if the refrigerator is still staying cold. Most normally this condensation is caught in a drip pan which lets the water evaporate. However, during periods of extended use, especially with periods of high humidity i.e. the summer, sometimes the condensation is higher than what the drip pan can hold and you get leakage over the sides.

Unfortunately while this is a relatively minor problem about the only way you are going to eliminate this is to install a dehumidifier in your home, or simply tolerate it for a month or so during the summer. I would bet dollars to peso's that after mid august this won't be a problem.

One thing to note however, is that if you start to see that it is running constantly, or if you notice that it's not keeping cool, then it may be time to call in a service person. But for your particular problem I don't think that will be necessary.

Actually a pretty common concern... second time in two hours I've seen it. :D

Samsung twin door fridge water leaking onto floor

I have a Samsung side by side - model RS253BAWW.

Water was leaking onto floor from main refrigerator, not freezer. It was determined to be a blocked defrost drain.

The repair technician removed the trays and food from fridge, remove the screws from the panel at back, disconnected everything and remove panel.
The stainless tray at bottom of fridge as well as panel itself had solid ice blockage.

He placed panel in sink and used something similar to a blow dryer with narrow hose on it to defrost both the panel and drain in fridge. Took him maybe 15 minutes and charged $99 total for the visit.

In future I will do this myself now that I know how but thought it may be useful information to others who are having similar problems.

Fridge Temperature wont stop blinking

I had the same prob, you need to defrost it until No MORE water drips out of the drain pipes located at the back ( there should be 2 of them one for fridge one for the frezzer, make sure the rubber thing at the top of the pipe is not closed up- if it is cut it open ) when you think its defrosted place a cup under these pipes and leave it for a few more hours, if there is ANY more water in there your not defrosted yet and it wont work--- Leave the doors open of course, mine took almost three days and i live in a hot climate.
ok once you have done that, take the cover off for the main circuit board ( top of the fridge ) on the circuit board there should be a little black button with "test" on it hold that in and turn the fridge on. it should beep at you ( wait 5 sec ) then push it again ( beeps again, wait 5 sec ) push it again, you have to do it about 3-4 time before it stops beeping, when its stopped, just leave it, it should start up after a couple a mins.
the fridge will take much longer to get cold so be patient, if you find it flashing again push that test button, i just played round with mine and it came right, good luck, because the only other way round the prob is to turn it off at the wall and turn it back on.

SAMSUNG RS253BAWW NOT WORKING

the ice maker wont cycle untill the temp of the ice is around 10 degrees so if the freezer is at 15 or 20 due to some other malfunction then you will see the maker full of ice but it wont harvest and make another batch. so you could have a sensor bad, control malfunction, refrigeration issue, compressor, defrost system malfunction(you mentioned ice build up)

Assistance required

A thermostat would have nothing to do with this problem. Condensation occurs when warm air moves into a cold place. Check door gaskets or any possible way that warm air is getting into the cabinet.
