Question about Epson Stylus DX6050 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Bypass using any colour ink with Epson D120 printer? Possible?

I've replaced both black printer cartridges in my Epson stylus D120 and it's still prompting to replace colour inks (which are empty) .. I only want to print black (and have set this in the preferences. It seems i can't print anything without having new colour cartridges in. Is there a way around this or is this a major Epson flaw?

Yup that's Epson for you. I had the same. bought the black one but to get it to work you must have ALL the ink cartridges full. no way around it.

I do not need to print color documents. Will it print if I only replace the black cartridge and not the color cartridge?

you must have both cartridges fitted for the printer to work. The colour cartridge can be empty if you don't want to print any colour, but it must still be in there. When the ink monitor prompts you to replace the colour cart, just lift it out and push back down. This will reset the ink counter.
This is ok to do in emergency, but not a good practice as you'll end up with colour printhead full of air. If you're doing this to save ink, just buy some generic colour cartridges, they're quite cheap.

hope this helps

Can't scan when out of ink

Unfortunately, there is no way to print with your printer without replacing
the empty cartridges. Sadly, that's just how Epson printers work.

I have just changed all the ink's in an Epson d120

If you replaced with "genuine" ink-cartridges, then it should report "full".

If you replaced with "refilled" ink-cartridges, then the company that refilled forgot to "reset" the electronics inside the ink-cartridge, in order to report "full".

Or, perhaps, the software "toolbox" that came with the printer has a button "I have installed new cartridges, please re-verify the ink-levels" ??? Click that button.

How do i change the colour cartridge for a epson style c42+ printer - if i press the red LED button for 6 secs only the black cartridge comes into the open.! how do i get the colour cartridge into view ?

after the black cartridge moves to the ink changing position, push the 'ink' button one more time to move the carriage to the position to replace the colour cartridge. in some cases this will only work when the printer indicates that the color cartridge is empty.

Cant change ink cartridge on my Epson C91

cannot change ink. Turn on, and just unplug power when cartridge is moving. cartridge will stop not in parking position. Just move head by hand to replacement position.

Epson sx200 One of the colour inks is empty and no print in black

Hi, this is not a solution because I don't think there is one apart from buying new inks. Epson and all other inkjet printers do this to prevent the coloured print head nozzles from getting blocked. If they are not used for a long time the ink dries up and blocks the nozzles. Epson recommends printing at least once a month with all colours to prevent this. Printing in black only option will only work if the colored inks are OK. Whenever the printer is turned on it performs a head clean, this is why the coloured inks get used over time even though they are not used for printing.
