Setting up a wireless router with a Windows client can be complicated.
There are a number of measures and options that have to be understood, and it's all too easy to make a mistakes but D-Link provides an easy to walk through configuration system to help you set up your D-Link wireless router.

Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the DSL modem.

Then plug the other end into the "WAN" port on the back of the D-Link wireless router.

Connect wired computers to any of the other Ethernet ports on the router using another Ethernet cable.
Access the D-Link Configuration Screen

Open your web interface and type "http://192.168.0.1" into the address bar, then hit "Enter" or "Return."
Use "Admin" as the username and leave the password blank when the login screen appears.
Click "OK." You should now see the D-Link configuration screen.
Set Up General Security

Change your administrative password by clicking on the "Tools" tab and choosing the "Admin" button.

Enter a new password under the "Administrator" heading.
Confirm it, and click "Apply."
Disable the wireless Local Area Network (LAN) if you don't need to use the wireless access and you want to make sure no one else is able to access your network.
Under the "Home" tab, choose "Wireless" and select the "Off" option.
Enable Wireless Encryption Protocol (WEP)

Locate the "Home" tab in the D-Link Configuration screen, and click on the "Wireless" button.
Use the "Open System" button beside "Authentication."
Select the "Enabled" button next to "WEP," and set the encryption key to "128 bit."
Set the "Key Type" to "ASCII" and choose a 13-digit password for the "Key 1" field.
Write down the password in a secure location.
Click "Apply." Change the SSID

Change the SSID to make it more difficult for others to locate and use your network by clicking on the "Home" tab and locating the "Wireless" button.
Change the default SSID to one of your choosing, then click "Apply."
Disable SSID broadcasting. Under the "Advanced" tab, click on "Performance" and check off the "Disabled" box. Again, click "Apply."
Filter MAC Addresses

Click the "Advanced" tab in the D-Link "Configuration" screen and select the "Filters" button.
Choose the "MAC Filters" and click on "Only Allow Computers with MAC Address Listed Below to Connect to the Network."
Enter the name and MAC address of the computers allowed to access the network, beginning with the one you are currently configuring. Click "Apply."

Can't get my router to connect to ISP with username and password

It is not done at the router but at each device. The router supplies connections via a local sub-masked address. It is typically assigned an IP address via the ISP's DHCP server. Typically usernames are used for e-mail and Usenet. Your connection is validated by the MAC address on the router. Your ISP can not look beyond your router. You can have 1 device or dozens. It matters not.

I cant log in my wireless device dlink on http://192.168.0.50/ i want set the password and i cant

the first time you access http://192.168.0.50 it will ask you for username and password. Type the default username and password. If you don't know try one of these:

Username: admin
Password: password

Username: admin
Password: No password (just hit enter after you type the username)

Username: admin
Password: admin

How to recover dir-600 dlink router password withoute reset

You need to log into the dlink router and look at the Wireless Security and you will see the password. To get into the router you will need the ip address of the router, the default user id and the password. You manual will give you this info if you do not know it.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Dlink Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Look for Manuals.

The IP address to put in your browser to get into the router is: 192.168.0.1

The default userid is: admin

There is not default password, so leave it blank.

Someone is logging into my computera and is using my internet connection for their wireless I want to change my web key address so that cannot occur again please tell me how

This is very simple. Go to http://192.168.0.1 and login using "admin" for the username and "motorola" for the password (both without quotation marks). From there you'll see a column of buttons on the left-- click on "wireless". In that new page you'll see a row above the main content with 4 tabs-- click "security". Now you'll see an area that says "security mode". I would recommend using WPA because it is the most secure. You'll choose what you want the password to be in the field that says "Passphrase", and then press "Apply". You'll notice you aren't connected to the internet anymore (if using wifi) because you'll need to reconnect and put the new password in. That should do it, but let me know if you have anymore questions!

Connect a LAN cable from the D-Link to your laptop/computer's LAN port, openthe browser on your laptop/computer and enter the D-Link's configuration URL..
http://192.168.0.1

I lost the admin password for my DWL 3200P AP but i dont want to reset it because of the configuration that is on the AP...is there any way out by not loosing the configuration.

Hi,
First try with the default setting for your router.
Default IP Address :- 192.168.0.50
Default admin username :- admin
Default admin password : Don't enter anything keep it blank.

If this will not work then you have to reset your router.

Thanks for using FixYa.
