SOURCE: how to tell if your unit is a heat pump or just air conditioner with electric heat strip

PTH is a heat pump. PTC is an air conditioner only. I don't believe Amana makes electric heat strip-only models based on what I see in their literature. You can just do a google search and look for yourself.

How to configure AMANA to only use the heating element and not the pump?

switch thermostat to emergency heat. Call for service the unit should be under warranty. Be aware that using heating strips will cause your electric to go extremely high.

Where is the reset button on an Amana ASZ14 unit?

I don't think the Amana ASZ14 Heat Pump has a reset switch, but you can still reset it by resetting the power (when it's not running... turn your thermostat OFF first).

To reset the power, locate your circuit breaker box. There should be a double-breaker for the Heat Pump and another double-breaker for the Air Handler. Turn them both off for at least 2-3 minutes. Then flip them back on and turn your thermostat back ON.

You're thermostat may also have a RESET button that you can push. I have to reset mine every time I change the batteries in it.

My Amana Heavy Duty Dryer will not heat up. It tumbles but it doesnt warm up. WE have cleaned out the the machine and the vent to the outside.

You didn't state if it is a gas or electric dryer. If gas the igniter element is bad, if electric the heating coils need replaced. Goodluck Google burdfrenzy

My oven still doesnt work after replacing heating element

it could either be a hot spot in the element where it can no longer pass all the current needed for proper operation in heating(look for a discolored spot on it,it may be whitish and dimpled from heat) or secondly,it could be the oven thermocouple located on the inside top of the oven cavity

Amana Heat Pump Tripping Breaker

My guess I would say, you either have a wire that is short to ground or if the contacter pulls in, then I would say the compresser is short to ground. There also could be some capacitors that could be short.
