Tv does not power up, has red light flashing on lower rh corner.

the psu has failed prob a CCFL fault as it flashes red
the low voltages like 5v is ok

get it serviced by a tv person i think its more too do with the lcd panel

get the service manual and then open it up and do a voltage check on the 5v standby.

if it's not showing anything, then you need to hunt down if it's the ic, cap, or diode or a combination thereof.

The little plastic button you are referring to is the IR receiver for the Remote. When the TV turns itself off, are there any flashing lights on the front or rear of the unit. Look through the vents in the rear for any flashing lights or try tuning the tv on in a dark room and see if any lights flash and reflect off of walls. If there are flashing lights tell me how many flashes and what color and I will try to look them up in the manual.

Time to replace lamp in tv.
Existing lamp in tv is dead and tv needs new lamp to work again.
Lamp replacement procedure is easy and written in user manual of tv.

The red flashing light is the service code. My guess is the power supply is bad now, but it could be something else. If the TV is under warranty, take it in and get if fixed. If it is not, then you may try to check the power supply first. Count the flashes of the red light and check online for the issues when this model flashes, 4 times or 6 times... or 9 times, etc.

that is the battery light, it means you need to charge it.

the lamp has blown replace if got instruction book that came with tv shows you how if not got the lamp is behind cover on side or frount cover that comes off by undoing two black screws on back corners (each lower corner) anda sharp pull will remove cover

its not hard to replace the bulb and you can go to any tv shop and have them order it.youll need to give them the make and model number off the back of the tv so they know what to order

sounds like a hardware failure, let me know which model # it is and i will run through service manual.
