Can't play ds fireline (100 games in 1) in dsi

I bought my dsi here in the US but the games here are so expensive. So, I got the "100 games in 1" in the Philippines. Not knowing that it is not compatible with my dsi. When I put on the cartridge and clicked start..it always says "An error has occurred. Press and hold the Power Button to turn the system off. Please see the Nintendo DSi Operations Manual for help troubleshooting." Though, there's nothing in the manual to help me with my problem...I searched thru the internet and found this forum. Please help cause I really love the games I have installed in my new cartridge(ds fireline). HELP! =)

Oh..BTW, how can I break the region code for dsi? any clue? thanks!

The DSi blocks all flashcards that were released before it. Your card is one of those blocked cards, so you can't do much except return that and buy a DSi-compatible cart online. As for the region, the DSi hasn't been hacked yet so region changing isn't possible at the moment.

How to Get WiFi for DS

Depending on which DS you purchase, you can use the console's Wi-Fi settings to play games against other players around the world or download additional content. The Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi allows for gamers to compete with one another as long as the game being played supports these connections. The DSi features a built-in web browser as well as a store where entire games can be purchased and downloaded. In order to access these features on either console, games must first locate and connect to a wireless access point.
Difficulty:Easy Instructions Things You'll Need

  • Nintendo DS or DSi
  1. Connecting with a DS or DS Lite
    • 1 Insert a game cartridge into your DS and power it on. Begin the game, and on the main menu, choose the option for setting up a Wi-Fi connection. The location of this option differs in each game, so check your game's manual for where to find this option.
    • 2 Choose "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Settings" from the setup screen and press "A" to select this option. Choose one of the connection spaces to use for this location. You can save up to three locations at a time.
    • 3 Select "Search for an Access Point" and press "A". On the next screen, choose the blue padlock. This is an open connection. Selecting it will connect your DS to this wireless connection.
    • 4 Return to the main menu of your game by pressing "B". You can now play games over the Wi-Fi connection.
    Connecting with a DSi
    • 1 Power on your DSi and wait until the main menu opens up. Once on the main menu, scroll until you see the "Settings" tab, which is illustrated by a wrench. Tap on it to open the menu.
    • 2 Click the right arrow until you reach the third page of the System Settings menu. On this page, select the last option, which is labeled as "Internet". Select "Connection Settings" from the next menu. This item will have an image of the DSi to the right of the option.
    • 3 Choose one of the connection boxes to set up a new Wi-Fi connection. These will have the word "None" listed. You can have up to three saved connections on the DSi at any given time.
    • 4 Tap the top box on the Connection page. This will automatically search out a wireless access point for you to use on your DSi. Choose an access point with an unlocked icon; these connections do not require an administrator password to access.
    • 5 The DSi will test the connection, after which you'll be able to play games online, download new content or browse the Internet.
Tips & Warnings
  • Not all DS games can be played online. Check the back of the game's box to see if it supports a Nintendo Wi-Fi connection
  • The Nintendo DS cannot connect to secure networks. The DSi requires a password from the administrator to connect to these networks.

Some ds games do not work on my ds but will work on my sisters and there are other games that will work on my ds. Is the problem with the ds or the game

it might be because you have a DSi, and your sister has a DS or DS lite

if so you cannot play some games because DSi are region locked, basically an US DSi can only play US games, a japanese DSi can only play japanese games etc etc,

DS and DS lite are not region locked and can play any game

I have this game which is imported from japan. I just read that it us region locked, so it cant be played on the european or us dsi. I have searched on the internet to see if there is a solution. Alot of...

From Wiki:

"The immediate successor to the Nintendo DS, the Nintendo DSi, is region-locked, but only in terms of its downloadable games. Physical DS game carts will play on it regardless of region of origin (DSi-only and even DSi-enhanced games are region-locked though)."

Bought a Nintendo DS game cart from the states and it will not play on my UK spec DSi console. Is there anyway around this?

It sounds like it's a DSi game you've bought, correct?
Those are unfortunately (and stupidly IMO) region locked, and you will not be able to run it.
If it is however just a DS game, there's no reason it wouldn't work, that being the case let me know what game it is and I'll see what info I can dig up!
