After the dryer runs for about 30 minutes the smoke detector down stairs in the garage goes off. There is no visible smoke anywhere and there is no smell of smoke anywhere. We have had the fire department out twice and they have tried different detectors and they all go off. What can it be.
What type of smoke alarm is it? Photoelectric or ionization? Is the dryer vented to the outside of the structure? High humidity can cause them to alarm.
Lint might be causing the detector to go off. Check your vent piping to be sure it is 100% sealed and all going outside. A quick test that might provide some data is to run the dryer empty with no heat. Does the detector still go off? If the detector is silent being empty with no heat then it could be lint ... or something having to do with the heat source. You did not indicate whether the dryer was gas or electric
Good luck with your troubleshooting
Bro there is a possibility that the sensor is going off due to power surges while using the dryer, turning it on and off will cause power fluctuations, you need an electrician to measure the current\voltage while you which on the dryer, if this is the cause he will advise you on how to avoid future false alarms.

I have a First Alert Smoke Detector Model SA 86RAC.When I changed the Battery today it beeps. How do I fix this problem?
SOURCE: My Atwood LP Gas Detector is sounding an alarm every 30 secs.
The alarm you are getting is telling you that the battery has nearly gone. Some gas detectors you have to renew as the crystals used to detect the gas oxydise after about five years, and are no good.
May pay you for your safety to get a new one. Try Wallmart or similar.
