Strings on clothes are getting caught on the edge of the lint trapand spinning into a mess of a knot.

Sounds like a ventilation issue. Remove the dryer vent tube and take a leaf blower to it and try to blow it out as best as you can. Also check outside to see if something is blocking the vent. Birds and mice love to build nests in that nice warm vent tube. The ole leaf blower will remove these nice little woodland creatures with force, yet its totally humane, and wont hurt them a bit. If this doesnt work, you may have to run to your local building supply center or hardware store and get one of those inexpensive brushes that you can use to clean out your lint areas. A good test to see if you have good airflow is to remove your lint filter (if its a top filter), turn on the unit, and drop a small piece of lint down the tunnel. If it zooms right down, then its good. If it just kinda hangs around, its not that good. If you have a way to check the entire length of the vent tube, look to be sure that there is no dips or kinks. Also, remember that the shortest and straightest vent tube, is the best vent tube. Let me know how it turns out, or if you need further information. Good Luck!!!! Jim

SOURCE: Can't remove dryer blower wheel
I would start by taking off the top and checking the belt to see if part of it tore and is hitting the inside of the cabinet. I have not found a real good way to get the blowers out without having to break them sometimes. the part of the blower that you have to hold is access through the front behind the motor. problem is when you turn the motor shaft, the wrench strips out on the blower, then you have to break them, but unless you need a new motor, it should not have to come off.

Make sure it's blowing air out the vent outside. But even though it's heating doesn't mean it's heating 100 percent so u might need a heating element. Not to expensive to buy and often not to hard to change, refer to owners Manuel or a computer on how to change it.
