Recently our Bunn coffee maker suddenly started tripping the breaker as the water heats up. It will power on and the water will start to heat and then about 60 secs. into it the breaker will trip. Could this be due to the limit thermostat or the solenoid? Thanks
It is possible that you have a short in your limit thermostat, but most likely this is caused by small holes in your main heating element. these units start to split length ways down the element, causing a short to ground through the water. These elements are readily available at your local Bunn repair shop.

Ours does that, too. We thought it might have been the breaker, but when we moved it to another curcuit it still tripped the breaker. The coffe maker is only 1 year old and I didn't think it would die this soon!
I have commercial ST-15 Bunn and it trips the GFI after about 30 seconds.
Any recomendations?
Same thing happened to us. It was about a year old. tried multiple outlets, popped them all. Had to buy another...
