SOURCE: Where is the bar oil adjusted from on husqvarna 345

Turn the Hus 345 chain saw upside down, you may see a little Icon of a oil droplet and a + - arrow by the chain. THe adjustment screw is not pictured in any of the standard user manuals,. but it is a small black slot headed screw over a rectangale metal tab by the chain. I believe if you turn it counter-clockwise, it will give you more oil,, It did for me. If you have the bar off, you can start the saw and see it come out the hole, that would verify your oil pump is working. Make sure the holes on the bar are clean also. running the saw at a fast idle for 1 min should oil the chain well enouth that it starts spraying off the end of the bar when you gun the engine.

How to adjust bar oil flow as bar heating up too much even though chain is sharp

Not all Husqvarna models have an adjustable pump, if it is adjustable there will be a slot head screw either at the side of the sprocket, or just under neath the sprocket, there will be a small symbal of a drop of oil and a + and - sign.

I can not find a bar to fit the rancher 55. This

The 50/51 and 55 always had the same bar mount, the bar was part no. 508912164 for 15" 508912172 for 18" and 508912180 for the 20", the oil is not fed through the bar adjuster hole.

I am using a borrowed Husqvarna model 51 chainsaw (aprrox 18") and having a problem with the chain seizing up. It worked fine for 30 minutes or more, and then the chain suddenly had much more...

Sounds like the bar is to tight. There should be a cover and 2 studs, loosen the nuts and then look for an adjusting screw at the back of the bar and back it off.The chain should have about 1/8 slack when pulled from the bottom of the bar.A tight chain will heat the bar and turn it blue close to the chain guide.A new bar will be required. Thank you for using FixYa .

No oil flows to chain

Depending on your knowledge and experience -
1. Find your manual and check on maintenance routines.
2. If no manual avail - clean your saw and your bar.
Bar - oil holes clear, groove clean etc
Saw - locate where the oil pumps out - ensure any guides, holes etc are clean.
3. If saw gas manual oil pump adjustment screw -advance the flow
4 Drain the oil tank checking for dirt etc and if necessary clean tank with a little of your fuel.
5.Refill oil tank AFTER it is clean and dry.
6. Replace bar/chain etc and test if flow is better
If still no good you may need to repair/replace oil pump -not that hard to do but if in doubt take it to a reputable dealer.

Husqvarna 272 xp, setting for setting screw for oiler

To check for proper oiling, run the saw at speed with the tip of the bar near a piece of cardboard--it should throw off a thin line of oil after several moments of running. Adjust the oil adjust screw CCW for more oil. The screw is usually in the lower front or underneath the engine. Remove the bar and chain first before adjusting anything and check the oil passages located in the drive end of the bar for plugging--especially the two small passages that go from the large oil holes out to the chain groove on both sides. Start the engine without the bar and chain--look at the oil port where the bar mounts next to the engine. It should ooze out oil with the engine running fast. If nothing at all, the pump, oil lines, and oil filter in the tank should be checked. When everything seems to be working, then adjust oil flow for best operation. Hope this helps!
