The ink absorber box or flushing box is nearly full. These components are periodic maintenance items that may require replacement after a period of time to ensure optimum performance from your Brother machine. Because these components are periodic maintenance items, the replacement is not covered under the warranty. The need to replace these items and the time period before replacement is dependent on the number of purges and flushes required to clean the ink system. These boxes acquire amounts of ink during the different purging and flushing operations. The number of times a machine purges and flushes for cleaning varies depending on different situations. For example, frequently powering the machine on and off will cause numerous cleaning cycles since the machine automatically cleans upon power up. The use of non-Brother ink may cause frequent cleanings because non-Brother ink could cause poor print quality which is resolved by cleaning. The more cleaning the machine requires the faster these boxes will fill up. http://support.brother.com/g/b/faqlist.aspx?c=as_ot&lang=en&prod=dcpj4110dw_eu_as&tabid=2

There is no reason to clean or replace. Just reset counter with this procedure.
the proper reset code sequence to reset DCP printers without numeric keypad should be as follows:

1. press buttons OK, Menu, Mono Start one by one, followed by up arrow key four times. this should all be done as short a time as possible, around 3 seconds.

2. enter maintenance mode 80 by pressing the up/down arrow key and set key to select numbers 8 and 0

3. press blue MONO start button to select PURGE which requires it to be pressed a number of times before PURGE appears on the LCD screen of the printer

4. then use the up'down key and OK button to enter the reset code 2, 7, 8 and 3 keys to reset the counter : Note this does not overwrite the number next to PURGE on the LCD screen but once the last number is added it gets reset to 0000

5. press Stop/Exit key to go to root of maintenance mode

6. enter 9,9 to exit maintenance mode

well, cut the small piece of black tape (or you can use black permanent marker) and then cover the sensor of the cartridge, once the device will ask you to reinstall the cartridge and new system will detect as a new cartridge

To clear the inkabsorbernearfull err! On the/my BROTHER DCP-J525W you do the same as this method https://youtu.be/Q3kCHI6hlJc but go to FLUSH instead of PURGE then type the 2,7,8,3 sequence.

CAUTION; Only do this if you know the consequences of having an overflowing tank.
My tank has been removed and is now externally collected as in the image.ee63a71c-73e2-4af7-a89e-23485ceed7e6.jpg

If you actually changed the flushing box, you should know how to go to the maintenance mode and reset the waste ink counter. Info. that is only available to Brother techs.
