How does Walmart's two year replacement plan for sewing machines work?

Is this the same as the Continental CE10131 or do you have lots of mini sewing machines?

All mini sewing machines are a compromise based on cost and physical size. If you want to get into sewing you are better to buy a full size non-computerized machine.

open your machine and check to see if the rubber washer is still on the spindle that winds the bobbin. If not replace it, if it continues you will need to replace the entire mechanism.

Just call in at a sewing machine outlet and ask them for an opinion. A lot of these older machines were very well built with quality bearings, steel gears and powerful motors. It may just need a clean.

Depends on how much sewing you plan to do, what kind of sewing (embroidery, etc.) and the condition of the machine. If everything else works I would invest $50. The Viking 1 machines are getting old and parts are hard to come by and may be quite expensive. If you plan to do lots of sewing, I would look around at the cost of replacement machines to make the cost/benefit analysis of repair/upgrade. Lots of people still use these machines, especially for quilting. When they are in good condition they are great machines.

Can you believe it?? I finally found the bulb at a local sewing machine center however, they wanted $9.00 per bulb.. Walmart, Target, Joanns etc., did not have the bulb. I called the sears part center and obtained the bulb there. The cost was $4.00 for a pack of 2. After all the hunting I did, the S&H was well worth it. Good luck and I hope this helps you.

It's a loud machine.
If you have kids or you simply don't want anything that's noisy, then you better look for another one. This equipment produces noise than may annoy you.

Get the bobbin case fixed, and find a sewing machine store that takes trade ins.
