A chip perhaps, but not a crack, you will need to replace the whole glass panel. Will be quite expensive though.

Top can be replaced but is around 4 to 500 dollars .

A small crack, turns into a big crack, Short of ordering a new piece of glass, there is no "fix" sorry. YOu can continue to use it, but eventually it will run across the cook top, and then shatter the glass... Better be safe than sorry.

The glass can be replaced. Go to any appliance parts website and look up the model number for your cooktop. They should have a parts directory and then search for your cooktop glass. I warn you though - the glass is almost as expensive as a new unit!!

since it is a glass top. there must be a crack on the surface. the cleaning liquid short out the elements. and it will stay that way till th liquid dry.
use a hair dryer to heat up the surface and see if you can see the crack. it may be a hairline crack.
once it is dry, it should turn on, unless there something else having a problem.

This part can cost over $400. It is usually not worth fixing. NEVER operate the stove with a cracked top. This is tempered glass and it can just explode! It is also a dangerous electrical issue. Liquid can drip down through the crack and contact the live open element.

The cooktop will need to be removed from the counter. Turn it upside down and remove the screws. The biggest problem will be removing the cooktop from the counter. Sometimes it is not worth fixing as the part could cost around $400. NEVER use a cracked top as it could suddenly explode. This is tempered glass and very unstable if cracked or chipped.

Mine cracked and I ordered a replacement shipped overnight. I can't get a repair person out before Christmas. Is it easy to do it myself?
