All edges are cut off in 1080i display mode

I just started using the HD channels and whether I'm using an XBOX360 or my cable receiver in 1080i, all the edges are chopped off.  I've been through the manual, and I've tried changing the 'format' (which cannot be changed in DTV HD mode).  It's very strange because I was under the impression that HD automatically stretches to the correct resolution.  That doesn't seem to be the case for me.  The top AND side edges are cut off to the point were the bottom and side tickers on ESPN are barely visible.  This is very, very upsetting and I've not been able to find help anywhere.  Please advise!

I have the same problem and have not been able to fix it either- i think it has to do with the glare screen on these TV blocking some of the viewable area.

How do I change my W2613 TV resolution to 1080i? I just bought this TV a few weeks ago and I want to be able to play my XBox360 in HD and when I connect all 6 wires (Red, White, Yellow & Green, Red,...

use just the red green and blue wires for the picture and NOT the yellow wire. That is why it is messed up.

XBOX games only play in 720, but it will still look great.

Mitsubishi VS-60805 Rear Projection won't operate in HD mode with Cable Box

Since this is an older first generation (1999) HD TV it may not be compatible with newer HDTV receivers because the standards back then were different - Make sure the HD cable box is plugged into the HD component inputs on the back of the TV (not the DVD inputs) and that the menu setting on the TV is set to DTV (not RGB) video. This TV will only accept 480i and 480p signals on the DVD input. Also the HDTV input will only accept 480i,480p and 1080i (it will not work with a 720p signal, make sure your cable box is not set to that mode)

HDMI XBOX360 Elite -"No Signal"

The connection order can be a key issue as to whether or not the HDMI signals will pass through the system. For best results the receiver should be turned on first, then the source device(s) and then the display. The reason for this has to do with getting the equipment to handshake properly for the HDCP protocol.

If HDMI video will not pass through your receiver, you may with to just connect the xbox using the component cables. Since component will pass through 720p and your TV is 1080i you should expect the same qualtiy and a more crisp picture.

My xbox360 Wont work on my WS-55513 MITSUBISHI COMPONENT

Try changing the settings on the Xbox under display to 1080i. If it is 1080 p, or 720p, the image will look funny so make sure it is at 1080i.

Motorola DCH3200 Cable Box

Be sure that you took the time to force the output of the DCH3200 to 1080i. They do not seem to come set that way by default! This is true whether you are using either the component or HDMI output.

Power OFF the unit and immediately push the Menu key on the front panel. Using the remote, be sure that the 2nd line of the config is set to 1080i and not something less.

"Not supported Mode" message

Hook up the component cables on the tv and the dtv box
go to set up on the menu select HDTV or display and deselect all of the 480i and 480p and in some cases also the 720 and only select 1080i to be display. you can then hook up your hdmi cable again and it shoud be supported. Let me know if that works.

Wierd problem

HD projection televisions have seperate convergence alignment for 480i-1080i thus your problem when you use your XBOX360. The "No sensor data" that shows up is due to the fact that the sensors need to be initilized after doing the convergence in 1080i mode. You will probably need a technician to do the alignment because if it is out that much then a template needs to be used to get it corrected. For now you can put your XBOX in a lower display mode until repairs are done.

Signal from HD cable box occasionally gets scrambled/black out

Try removing 1080i from your list of available video resolutions in the setup screen of the Plasma display. If you are using a HD satellite receiver, check the LEDs on the front and note if the device is slipping into 1080 mode when the probem occurs.
