How to Fix Vacuum Cleaner
With the link that i have attached i sure do hope that you will solve your overheating problems and others just in case. There are diagrammatic instructions also. Hope the information is useful and helpful.
The motor has a thermal reset built in. If the filters need replaced the motor can overheat. Filters should be replaced frequently to insure proper cleaning suction and motor life
This sounds like an overheat condition, Inspect for plugged air flow issue. the motor will burn up, if no heat based interrupt stopped the unit. My bet is that something is plugging the machine's air flow.
Hi, I have a Hoover Bagless myself. I also have worked professionally fixing Vacuum Cleaners. There may be some material caught between the roller end and the end bearing or the edge of the roller compartment. This could be causing excessive friction causing the motor to overheat. Like a piece of carpet fabric that wrapped around the end. However, that is not supposed to happen to a vacuum cleaner. If you turn the vacuum cleaner over, exposing the brush, you may find it. And be able to remove. HOWEVER: This is supposed to be a premium Vacuum. It has a very high rating. It certainly is still covered under warranty. I would take my receipt, be safe, and exchange it. I hope this helps, Have a Happy New Year Best, Mark

Posted by Brigham81 on Jul 05, 2008 I was vacuuming the stairs, and all of a sudden the light went out and the motor stopped. Is it possible to overheat it, or blow a fuse? Thanks,Brigham Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Oreck XL2200 Bagged Upright Vacuum. It sounds to me that when the lights go out and it stops working that the motor is bad that you would have to replace the motor. It is still cheaper to replace the motor than to purchase a new vacuum.
