I've had the ssame issue in the past and it is very frustrating especially if they are importatant documents. I put my papers side ways at times just to line it up. You can attempt to fix it rebooting it. Unplug it from every plug then restart it.

earlier model mp 470's were not wireless capable.

You can find instructions and images on how to replace an ink cartridge in the Canon MP470 user manual, page 46 to 50. You will need Adobe Reader in order to be able to view the manual.

Switch it ON, then lift up the scanner unit. Wait until the carriage stop at the left hand side, then press the cartridge down and may remove it now.

try resetting your printer.

TRY GOING INTO YOUR INK SETTINGS AND TELLING THE PRINTER THAT BOTH CARTRIDGES ARE FULL IF THAT DOESN'T HELP GO INTO YOUR PRINTER VIA CONTROL PANEL AND MAKE SURE ALL SETTINS ARE BACK TO DEFAULT .
