That sounds like the backlight inverter board. Check ebay for the board or a repair kit for it.

SOURCE: blinking monitor power button and flashing image

I buy and sell these monitors (Dell E17FP) the problem is with the transisters (Q739, Q740, Q759, Q760) they short out and the monitor will just blink on and off. You have to desolder them and test them with a simple battery and light circuit. The reason they blow is because of the dirty solder joints by the transformers. If only on pair of backlights work the problem maybe transisters Q751, Q743. I home this answers your questions.

SOURCE: Dell E173FP Screen blinking red, green, blue, white

The monitor is probably on protection.

To start unplug monitor from power and from computer and test computer with different monitor to find out if it is monitor or computer fault.

If it is computer fault and no video signal , then test:

  • Video cable.
  • Video adapter on PC (sometimes integrated on motherboard)
  • Motherboard.

If it is monitor fault , then the monitor is on protection.

When on protection you keep having a flashing led on front of the monitor , and monitor turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the Monitor goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or a broken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the monitor will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, faulty inverter board, faulty input board, or a fault on LCD Digital Controller board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

Try moving the video cable, and if the cable is not built in, then also try a replacement cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

Laptop LED Blink on Startup There are many reasons that a computer does not...

Laptop LED Blink on Startup
There are many reasons that a computer does not startup or boot into the Windows operating system. If your computer will not start or boot, you will see or hear symptom to indicate the general area of the problem.
Startup Symptom: LEDs blink but does not start
The blinking LED lights on newer computers, or the beep tones on older computers, will help support agent determine what hardware component is not responding properly. The exact meaning of each code varies with the model, and the user cannot change any of the blink or beep codes.
DO THESE FIRST - Perform a hard reset.
If a PC suddenly fails to boot properly, you should perform a hard reset as the first procedure.
1. Disconnect all peripheral devices and remove all USB devices and media cards. You want to test the computer not the accessories!
2. Disconnect the AC power adapter, remove the battery and then press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds.
3. Reconnect the AC power adapter (but do not connect the battery), Press the Power button, Look for glowing LEDs near caps lock and num lock keys, and Listen for sounds of a disk drive and fan turning.
Identify the number of blinks or beeps
When there is a start-up problem and you see LED lights on the keyboard blink a few times (between 1 and 8 blinks) do the following actions.
Table of Sample Blink Codes
The following table illustrates the meaning of blink codes used on some notebooks. The blink or beep codes on your computer may have different meanings.
Meaning of Sample Blink Codes for some EFI Notebooks:
1) Number of Blink: Continuous Glow, Blinking LED: Battery power LED, Component: Battery,
Error Condition: The AC adapter is attached and the battery is charging, but does not yet have sufficient charge to power the notebook.
2) Number of Blink: 1, Blinking LED: Caps Lock/Num Lock, Component: CPU,
Error Condition: CPU not functional
3) Number of Blink: 2, Blinking LED: Caps Lock/Num Lock, Component: BIOS,
Error Condition: BIOS corruption failure
4) Number of Blink: 3, Blinking LED: Caps Lock/Num Lock, Component: Memory,
Error Condition: Module error not functional
5) Number of Blink: 4, Blinking LED: Caps Lock/Num Lock, Component: Graphics,
Error Condition: Graphics controller not functional.
6) Number of Blink: 5, Blinking LED: Caps Lock/Num Lock, Component: system board,
Error Condition: General system board failure.
7) Number of Blink: 6, Blinking LED: Caps Lock/Num Lock, Component: BIOS,
Error Condition: BIOS authentication failure.
8) Number of Blink: Continuous blink, Blinking LED: AC power adapter LED, Component: Power adapter,
Error Condition: Insufficient power
Common solutions for issues that cause blinking LEDs or beep tones
When the computer can boot into the BIOS, run the memory test to identify other issues.
Check for loose connections and test the memory
Blink codes are often displayed after a user adds memory to the computer but does not seat the module properly. The LEDs may also blink error codes if a hardware component is loose because the computer was dropped or jarred. The problem could be that the stick of memory or one of the memory slots has a bad connection.
Check for loose memory modules
If a memory module is loose or is not making good contact with the memory slots, the computer does not recognize all of the memory. Reseating the memory module may resolve memory failure errors.

Flashing green light on philips plasma tv

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power led, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. Viewing it in "Mosaic" will make surf easy.

Help w/ the flashing green light

Good Day;

Cause #1 1. Red status LED, self-diagnosis error 44, check for open F9A06 on the Power PCB part # 283P128050 on the Power PCB 2. Red lamp LED, self diagnosis error 34. Check for 5-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 1 and 2 on the Engine Driver PCB if missing replace the Power PCB part # 930B921002 3. LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. This model is equipped with a keyboard lock feature, this can be mistaken as a no power condition. To unlock the keyboard press and hold the "menu" button on the front panel for 10 seconds 4. LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. Check for 3.2 volts DC at connector LE pin 3 and 4 on the Control PCB, if low suspect problems with the switches/buttons on the Control PCB part # 935D776001 5. LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. Keyboard is not locked and key inputs at connector LE pin 3 and 4 check good. Suspect the E2P PCB part # 934C121001 6. (LED does not stop blinking after plug in) Disconnect the USB connector from the card reader to the front from the Chassis, if the LED stops blinking after 70 seconds replace the Card Reader part # 299P271010. 7. (LED does not stop blinking after plug in) Disconnecting the USB connector from the Card Reader did not help. Remove connector FC from the FMT PCB and plug the unit in, if the LED stops blinking after 70 seconds with FC removed suspect a problem on the FMT PCB (part # 930B924002), if the LED keeps blinking with connector FC removed suspect a problem on the DM PCB (part # 934C116002). 8. (LED does not stop blinking after plug in) On the DM PCB (part # 934C116002) check C81A2, C81A3, C81B3 and C81B4 (1000 UFD, 16V, 105C), if any are bad, replace all of them with part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V, 105C).
