How do I set up a valet m20 router with a computer that runs windows xp 2000?

Hi,

Welcome to FixYa!
If you still have the installation disc that came with the router, you can go ahead and run the disc and follow the instructions. The Cisco Connect Software will be installed when you run the supplied Setup CD or Easy Setup Key on a computer. Once Cisco Connect is installed, you can then use its features to easily manage and share your network resources.

QUICK TIP: Create a Desktop shortcut to launch Cisco Connect easier.
Windows XP

Step 1:
Click on the kb21465-001_en.png button and select All programs.

Step 2:
On the All Programs sub-menu, locate and select Cisco Connect. This should launch Cisco Connect and take you to its main screen.

kb21465-002_en_v7.png

NOTE: If you are unable to locate Cisco Connect, it may not be installed yet. Download the latest Cisco Connect setup wizard from the Cisco Support page. After downloading, click on the Cisco Connect icon to launch the installation wizard.

Hope this will help...Thank you for using Fixya...

Iam trying to connect my sony kdl hx 700 to wireless network and my ps3 but my router is a cisco 857 can it be done?

There are 2 models of the Cisco 857 router. You must have the the Cisco 857W in order to support 802.11b/g wireless. The 857 without the "W" will not support it.

Cisco 857w have had it running on network connected with broad band configured for demon internet w have now changed our supplier to BT and new password and loon on I have no software for the router only...

go to a command prompt on your computer and type in ipconfig - then look for the ip address of your "Default Gateway". Make a not of this ip address.. Then open your internet browser and type in http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX replacing the Xs with your default gateway... you will then get to the admin screen for the router where you can do whatever you need to do.
