Resetting the System Password
If you forget your password and still cannot remember it after seeing your hint, click the I still can't remember the password link.
The Reset System Password page opens.
To obtain access to your system:
1. In the System Key field enter the 10-digit system key located on the bottom of your gateway.
2. In the Enter New Password field, enter a new system password. In the Confirm New Password field, reenter the system password.
3. In the Enter Your Hint field, enter an appropriate hint as described under "Setting a System Password" .
4. Click Submit.
Setting a System Password
Setting a system password protects your gateway settings from being modified or changed by someone who has not been given permission to do so. After setting a system password, you will be required to enter it whenever you attempt to access a gateway configuration page - for example, if you try to change the gateway's broadband connection settings or upgrade the gateway software. If a password has not been set,
a reminder notice is displayed when you attempt to access pages where settings can be changed.
To set your system password:
• Open a Web browser and access the gateway user interface by entering
http://gateway.2wire.net.
• Click the System tab.
• Click the System Password link in the System area of the Network at a Glance panel to open the Edit
System Password page.
1. In the Settings panel, click the Enable checkbox.
2. In the Enter New Password field, enter your password.
3. In the Confirm New Password field, re-enter your password.
4. Optional: In the Enter Your Hint field, enter a hint.
A hint is a word, phrase, or question that reminds you what the password is. There is an I forgot the password link on the password entry page. When you click this link, it shows you your hint and allows you to enter your password.
5. Click SAVE.

There is a small piece of paper underneath the router with original passwords, and the default was WPA security.
Hold the reset in the back till it cycles to remove any custom settings.

The encryption (password) code is configured in the router's wireless settings.
Connect a LAN cable from Belkin to your laptop/computer's LAN port, open a browser on your laptop/computer and enter the Belkin's configuration URL. http://192.168.2.1
The default PW = blank (just press Enter) You can now change the default admin password.
You can now configure the wireless settings. Now configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop with the router's wireless settings. You need to configure your router with below method. Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method. Then set WAN settings as internet service provider settings enable DHCP. .Click on wireless and enabled it. Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security there is code password note down it or enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password. Because of you getting a new computer, you need to reaccess your router's administrative options to make sure that it pulls the correct IP address and all your computers that are connected use the correct password encryption. For details follow the instructions below:

First reset your router to factory defaults.
You can reset it with RESET button press it for 10 secondsd it is in back side of router.
Then connect your router to comuter with ethernet cable then you can access it with following link.
http://192.168.1.1
or
http://192.168.0.1
for belkin router
http://192.168.15.1

user name as "admin" and if it want password then "admin" or blank or "password"

Then you can access it's configuration.

hey what you can do is you can reset the entire router... by using the reset button on your belkin router... Or else you can also access the router by using the following IP address in the internet exlorer...

try 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.0 & then go to the wep settings & reset the router or change the password for the router...

What is the brand of the router your using? This information will be from the router that you have. Use a wired connection from the router,check your default gateway (ipconfig) and type that numbers in your address bar. You will be able to access your set-up page, look for wireless tab and look for wireless security. You will see there your WEP key.
