Right cartridge incorrect on X5650

"Right cartridge incorrect on X5650" Has anyone else encountered this particular problem on this model? I have tried all the fixes listed for the other models to no avail. Just purchased this printer on yesterday! This is my first Lexmark, and may very be my last! This is just too frustrating!!

A Right Cartridge Incorrect message generally indicates a communication error between the All-In-One and the cartridge. This can be caused by a faulty cartridge; however, it may be due to a simple interruption in the communication between the cartridge and the All-In-One.
The procedures below will help you to identify the cause of the error and resolve the issue.
Rebricking the All-In-One and Resetting the NVRAM
NOTE: The embedded links in the table lead to specific troubleshooting documents.

Step Action 1 Power off the All-In-One and remove the power brick from the back of the unit. Wait 20 seconds. Then reinsert the brick and power the unit back on.
Did the error message return?
Yes: Continue to step 2.
No: Print a test page. If the test page prints, the error is resolved.
2 Reset the NVRAM of the All-In-One
Did the error message return?
Yes: Continue to Checking the Cartridges.
No: Print a test page. If the test page prints, the error is resolved.


Checking the Cartridges
NOTE: The embedded links in the table lead to specific troubleshooting documents.

Step Action 1 Open the top cover of the All-In-One. Remove both cartridges. Close the top cover. 2 Power off the All-In-One and remove the power supply brick from the back of the unit. 3 Reinsert the power supply brick into the back of the All-In-One and power the unit back on.
Does the error message reappear?
Yes: Skip to Contacting Lexmark. There is a hardware issue with your printer and you need to contact our technical support center.
No: Continue to step 4.
4 Clean the cartridge contacts (click here for instructions) and the AIO carrier contacts (click here for instructions). Continue to step 5.
5 Power the AIO on, reinsert the black/photo cartridge, and close the top cover. Power the All-In-One off and then back on.
Does the error message reappear?
Yes: Power the unit off and try step 5 with another black/photo cartridge. If the error persists with the new cartridge, proceed to Contacting Lexmark.
No: Continue to step 6.
6 Power the AIO on, reinsert the color cartridge, and close the top cover. Power the All-In-One off and then back on.

Does the error message reappear?
Yes: Power the unit off and try step 6 with another color cartridge. If the error persists with the new cartridge, proceed to Contacting Lexmark.
No: Try printing a test page. If the test page prints, the error is resolved

There are a small number of #23/#24 cartridges that are not properly recognized by the printer. Lexmark has a firmware upgrade to correct this issue.
The upgrade for the X3430 is available from Lexmark at: PC: http://www.downloaddelivery.com/downloads/misc/Firmware_F061909_3430Series.exe Mac: http://www.downloaddelivery.com/downloads/misc/Mac_MCC_J062309_01.Zip

To install the firmware upgrade, 1. Make sure the printer is ON and connected with a USB cable. 2. Download and run the appropriate firmware upgrade for your computer. 3. Be sure not to disconnect or power off the printer until the upgrade is complete
When the update finishes the printer will restart and will accept the cartridges. Please contact Lexmark support if this does not fix the problem.

How does Combo print cartridge for lexmark x5650 work

Lexmark often package a black and a tri-colour cartridge together and call it a "Combo Pack" but it is still two seperate cartridges that are installed as you would usually.

I hope this is what you were asking. I am not aware of a "combo" print cartridge for this particular machine.

What does 'Print Cartridge in right stall not supported' mean?

It means you have a faulty or incorrect cartridge installed on the right side position. It could also mean the contacts are dirty or misaligned. Remove the cartridge, clean with rubbing alcohol and reinstall.

This is not a unknown error particularly if you are using cartridges other than the HP brand. Other people will tell you it is fine to use off brand cartridges or refilled cartridges. For myself, I have never had luck doing that - on the other hand, I have never been disappointed using the more expensive cartridges recommended by the manufacturer across several brands including Epson, Canon, Compaq and HP.

Try cleaning the contacts and ink jets. You may have to replace the cartridge. If that is the case, I would return the faulty cartridge and get a store credit.

I've purchased the right refill cartridges for my x5650 but the printer is reading that I need to refill the ink, WHY?

You will have to go in to the program file and look for maintenance or printer cartridge replacement folder in there you should find a cartridge reset. The other thing you can check that you have the cartridge seated properly.

Replaced ink cartridges and keep getting "incorrect Cartridge" displayed. Using refills that have been fine before.

Left Cartridge Incorrect / Right Cartridge Incorrect
  1. Remove the indicated print cartridge.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the electrical outlet.
  4. If the button_power_0.jpg button is not lit, press button_power_0.jpg.
  5. Reinsert the print cartridge.
  6. If the error:
    • Does not reappear, the problem has been corrected.
    • Reappears, replace the print cartridge with a new one.

Refilled cartridge , printer says right cartridge incorrect

Lexmark builds intelligence into their cartridges and printers to prevent the use of refilled cartridges.

Lexmark has never approved the use of anyone else's ink for their printers primarily because there is no way to prove the quality of the ink.

Please purchase a Lexmark cartridge.

Right cartridge incorrect

check which cartridge is on the right side remove the cartridge and try to clean the contacts and reinsert if still shows the same message .you have to replace that particular right side cartridge.and then your printer will work properly.

Ive tried removing the right cartridge so I can print in black, but now , once I refilled the black one, it wont even let me print black!! this is desperate; can anyone help?
