The player will mount on a USB socket and allow songs to be played through the computer but you need to slide the lock-unlock switch to the open position in order to turn the unit 'on' to allow playback through the headset.

Hi, I have a Jensen SMP-1GBUB model digital audio player. I can not read or download any files to this player. Any ideas? Vic

I had a similar problem. Starting the unit up shows "Not Fromat" (sic). I downloaded a low level format tool that supports USB. I was able to perform a low level format on the Jensen player, then I could format it and copy files over to it. It worked like new again.

How do i get it to work again??

What computer system are you attaching to? A Mac OS 9 system will give a format error and ask if you want it formatted but the unit will mount on Windows systems OK.

My SMP-1GBUB DIGITAL PLAYER is not working...

Try rebooting the computer - a cold boot (complete shut off of power and restart). then see if it will mount. It may have arrived with the operating file folder missing or it may have been accidently erased by you.

This unit appears to have a single level directory which holds the boot file to start it up as well as th eaudio files. If th eboot file is missing or was erased it will not work.

However sometimes Windows will forget how to look at it sattachments especially USB items and a restart from scratch will sometimes blow out the cobwebs. A restart won' thurt. Make sure it is a complete power down and not a RESTART (warm boot) or simply re-awakening from sleep mode.

I don't know if the downloading is working - only see MSC and SYS. no instruction booklet with device

Press the Menu button to access either folder. The MSC folder should be where your music is.

MP3 Player won't work

I had the same problem too. What worked for me was rolling the battery while it is in the battery compartment and holding the play button at the same time.

Whenever i press play, my MP3 player doesn;t play ANY song!!!!

I had the same problem, and I was ready to take the player back. I was searching under media help and found the help I needed. This is what you need to do: open your media player. Along the top it will read Now playing, Library, Rip, Burn and then SYNC. Sync is what you need to click on. In the area that you would drag music to for a playlist will now have ' Connect A Device'. The rest should be easy to follow. Good Luck!
