Use the Vista driver in Windows 7. Before downloading the printer driver, check if your Windows 7 is running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system. On your computer, go to Start menu > right-click on Computer > click on Properties. Take note of the System Type.

I am guessing that you're using the New improved windows Vista. If so, you need disconnect the printer power and usb connection. then remove the current driver for the printer and down load the current driver @:http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:571:0:0

The soft ware will tell you when to install the printer
