Re: The message no signal is bouncing around on the...
Go to the tv menu.
From there it will have options.
Go to the one where it says channel scan or signal scan.
Run the scan.
It will take around 5 to 10 minutes.
That should fix it.

What's your source for the video? For video from a set-top box (Blu-ray. cable box, etc), you have to disable captioning at the source. The TV's CC control only work for OTA and unscrambled cable channels when the incoming signal goes to the RF (coaxial) ANT/Cable input. If this is your source, press the Menu button. Use the left/right arrow buttons navigate to the Preferences menu. Open this sub-menu (down arrow) and highlight the Base CC mode. Use the left/right arrows to change the current mode to Off. Press Enter and then press Exit to save and exit the menu.
The set-top box may not have an option to control the closed captions from the remote but accessed through the On-Screen Menu. On some satellite receivers that provide a signal to a primary and secondary TV. to enable or disable the captions on the second TV at the primary TV's set top box. Then both TVs will show the captions. On my IPTV box, I need to use a password from the service provider to access the Settings menu. The control for the Closed Captions are in the Hardware > Audio Settings menu.
I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the specifics about your devices/source. I can try to find the directions for disabling the captions for your source.
U have the tv original remote wright?U are receiving and getting a Antena tv signal from free AIR DTV broadcasting channels?Yes,search ur tv remote for a button that said CC pushes that button a couple times make sure all functions like CC1,2,3.. to all off.If remote have no CC button,go into the tv menu look for Closed Captioning and Text like 1,2,3.. turn it all to off.The tv program Closed Captioning text on the screen will disapear. If ur are using Cable,Telicom,or satalite pay signals used their remotes.
Hi Thanks for using FixYa. Two things that will cause
the “No Signal” message to come up are - no data available for closed
captioning and a weak signal input. Your TV is in the Closed Captioning Mode.
To turn it off simply bring up the on screen menu and scroll down to the part
that says closed captioning and turn this function off! With the closed
captioning block displayed and the program being viewed is not sending out
closed captioning signals the TV will display, No signal! If this doesn’t resolve your issue then the problem may be
with the processor failing and it is causing a random read of the EPROM to
display the not available message. I’ll suggest you to run the HDMI from the
PVR (personal video recorder) directly to the TV (mute the TV), and then run
the optical audio from the PVR directly into the receiver's optical in. The
closed captioning is something that is addressed in analog broadcasts, but not
necessarily digital broadcasts Try using Component cables if this doesn’t make a
difference. After using components cables the issue will be resolved. Please do
accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further
assistance. Thanks Rylee

ok had to post this one with reference to the above problem
SOLUTION ... with tv on and box on ( be in cable mode) press MENU on cable remote ,press power button, press menu again, look at screen and where it says caption make sure it is disabled Mine was enabled ... change it and problem fixed ... I spoke to comcast finally after trying all day and they confirmed that with their new down loads to box it triggered the CAPTION to be ON
Closed caption wont turn off was solved by Bresnan tech. He told me the only way was to push the power button on my remote & then push the menu button right away & it would bring up a white screen & cc would be on it. I could't get it to work so I pushed the power button on my remote & the menu button on my motorola cable box & up came the screen & closed caption was on it. I disabled it & it took off the closed caption. Hope this helps
If a black box appears on the screen, and a small amount of the picture is visible around the border, it means that your closed captions are on and set to TEXT. Go back into the menu, navigate to the closed captions page and set the captions to OFF.
