New French Door refrigerator. About the time I was getting a "replace water filter" indicator the water quit. Still making ice fine. Put the water filter "blank" in while I was waiting for new filter and still didn't work. New filter put in and doesn't work. Defrosted entire unit and still not working. I'm thinking solonoid, but can't find where it even is. Any suggestions?
The solenoid valve is located where the water line connects to the fridge. There is a micro switch that the paddle in the door operates when you push a glass against it. Sometimes the plastic locating pin that holds the switch in position breaks and allows the switch to move away from the actuating lever.

you have prime the system air out of the water lines this is easy to do
put a glass big enough to cover water dispensor outlet cause its going to project water out at you press and hold button till water starts to run smooth
these fridges will spit water at you when you prime the system at first cause theres air blockage in lines

You need to check and see if ice maker has any water init. if not check the fill tube that goes thru the back wall for stoppage while you have it out rin the maker thru a harvest mode and listen for the sounds of the solonoid opening. If tube is full you'll need to replace the slow leaking valve a common problem. for parts call 704-819-6557

Remove the ice bucket/container from inside the freezer compartment. Examine underneath at the front of the container to see if ice cubes are lodged between the metal blades. If cubes are caught in this area, they will prevent ice from dropping into the glass/cup.
