All you need to do is successfully join each wi-fi network. Once you have joined a wi-fi network and connected to it the computer will remember the wi-fi profile and automatically connect to it the next time you are within range of it.

But if you only have a modem at home and an ethernet cable from the modem to your computer to get internet, then you may not have WI-FI at home.

I thing you might have a problem with you wi-fi setup in your house. Have you tried using iPhone's wi-fi in other places (were wi-fi is available)? If not, try it. If it works in a longer distance, than you need to contact your internet provider. If the iPhone acts the same even in other wi-fi places, you need to contact an official Apple dealer.

you have to be in a wi-fi area if you have high speed internet at your house you need a network router this will set up wi fi at your house so you can connect internet from your house if not go to a wi-fi hotspot then make yourself a playstation network account. I hope this helps you.

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable.
Then access it with following link.

type user name as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password"

Then configure your router as WEP.
Then go to wireless and check that wi fi is enabled.

Then go to wi fi security and add WEP key it is your password to connect your wi fi.
Also enable dhcp if you want get ip auto to computers.
configure your wan settings as your internet service provider like dns ip addrses.
Then save settings and restart the router.

Now go on your laptop first turn the wi fi switch on your laptop .
Then check that your wi fi network adapter driver is proeprly installed.Also check in my network places that your wi fi is enabled.
Then double click on wi fi icon and click on "View wi fi networks."
then connect then enter password which you set in router wep key.

You will need to check that the router is on first, then go to the internet settings on your computer, if the wi-fi doesnt show up try and SCAN so your computer will look for it. When it is found you will need to give it a password and then its ready to go
