Hello, I have a LaCie F.A. Porsche edition 160gb External HDD. I wonder if I can replace the HDD with an 1tb HDD.

Be sure to install any drivers or software that may have came with the drive.

Check My Computer, to see if it detected.
Try it in another USB Port.

I cant see my external lacie hard drive on my mac with the Lacie Network Assistant. The hard drive is visible with the finder though. With the dashboard and with the finder I am able to move or copy files...

Hello,
for the product that you selected for your question, it is impossible for the LaCie Network Assistant to see it because it is a Local drive (USB).
The LaCie Network Assistant only detects the Network LaCie drives.

Hello i plug my lacie 1tb external hard drive into my ps3 and it does not get regconise but when i plug it into my pc it works perfectly

ps3 is designed to take certain drive formats. I'm no sure which ones but you could test. Just back up all the files and reformat it with FAT32, FAT...and if it doesn't work just restore the files because gaming consoles were never designed to take externals used by computers.

This one may only have one possible solution.

You probably have heard that the PS3 will support up to a terabyte hard drive. That is true for most of them.

However, depending on the version of PS3, you may have to see if it is possible to flash the BIOS of the PS3. I talked to a Sony representative about the hard drive and it will support a 1 terabyte hard drive.

Contact sony to see if it is possible to flash the PS3 BIOS so it will recognize the drive.

PS3 doesn't reconize LaCie external drive

you external hard drive may not be supported by the PS3 system.

and format it again then try it, it should work fine, did for me.

check wires connecting them together first, ok?

then, turn off the LaCie, connect to your MacPro, and then turn on the drive..

that should show as a mounted drive.

I have the same issue, however with my verbatim 500g its ok. i believe it is because the lacie is a desktop external and therefore is compatable with windows xp and 7 alone.
Verbatim is a "portable" external hard drive which makes it compatible with several different systems. I would suggest returning it, I just formatted my old verbatim harddrive and set up mediaasharing. Through my router. You can actually route the lacie harddrive by going to my computer and right click the icon. Next go to share with; advanced settings and allow all. Then when you turn your ps3 on search for media servers... I would suggest to google media server for ps3 to get it all seet up. GOOD LUCK
