When I press "talk" I get a fuzzy buzz tone, not the regular dial tone. The phone was working fine this afternoon until this happened. Incoming calls get a busy tone. The face panel lights up when I press "talk" and when I press "off." The face panel shows a battery with one small black square. On the charging dock the face panel shows "charging" or "charging completed." I do not use any of the other aspects of the phone. It is a new phone as of about 2 months ago. I use it a lot as a simplistic land line. I do need this instrument to work reliably.

Check on the web page for panasonic .
Type in your unit number after you get to the manual area.
SOURCE: KX-TD7895 problem
If you were using this unit and it was functioning, then most likely the handset has gotten damaged, and you would need to send the handset and base into repair (its not programming setting or a field servicable problem). If your testing this unit for the first time, the base may not "match" the handset. You can tell if they match by looking at the code on the little white sticker on the bottom of the base, and it must match the code on the sticker on the handset which is under the battery. So if they match, and they still will not communicate with eachother not much can be done until its put on a diagnostics and testing. You can google kx-td7895 repair to find a facility. Good luck
SOURCE: Cannot hear any dial tone, but base works OK - callers get busy s
Headset says ringer off, cannot hear dial tone
SOURCE: Panasonic kx-TG2352 can not dial ,phone works for
Believe it or not, I accidentally discovered you have to really press hard on the numbers to dial !!! I guess this happened as one is used to a light touch working on a cell etc
