I have a maytag washing machine (about 20yrs old now) the water leak that I asked the repair man to look at was determined to be at the water pump.
Ongoing solution: - keep the old water pump as the leak in my case was caused from a build-up of lint, cotton etc on the spindle shaft of the water pump which pushes out the rubber seal for the pump shaft. If your qualified you can easilly dismantle the pump after removing it from the fully isolated washing machine to remove the lint etc from the internals of the pump - reassemble the pump and provided you have not left it leaking for too long before repairing it, it should be reusable. I have two pumps and i rotate them as the problem appears. the time between water pump changes is about
24mths. Hope this helps you.

Maytag clothes washer Model LAT6910AAW. leaks at the last cycle when the rinse water is drained. it may be the drain pump, except it doesn't leak when the wash water is drained (2nd cycle)

If your machine has a tray that you put softener in, softener is the last thing added at rinse time. If it is plugged or has a leaking supply hose, this would cause water paddles and appear to be related to the drain cycle.

Water coming out of the bottom of the machine

Sometimes, what may seem like a washing machine leaking from bottom locations is actually one that leaks slowly from other spots. Slow leaks can accumulate beneath your washing machine making it seem like you have a bottom leak. For more help identifying the exact point of the leak, see Washing machine leaking.

Bottom leaks may be better identified using a newspaper. Just dry the floor and lay the newspaper beneath the washing machine before you test for leaks. Darkened sections map out your water leak. This method is not always foolproof, however. The best diagnosis will come from a qualified service professional inspecting your machine.

If your washing machine is leaking from bottom in the rear, you may need a replacement pump and professional installation. The leak could also be caused by a faulty air dome seal or a hole in the tub. For more troubleshooting steps to tackle that leak, see Washing machine leaking from bottom. I hope that helps!

We have a maytag top lod washing machine model

Hi, the actual drain pump may have a crack on the housing. i would inspect this possible issue just to confirm that the pump structure if well.

Secondly, there may be a slight rupture in the tub seal. you will need to disassemble the tub to get a good look at this possible leak point. this is an uncommon area for leakage but, it is possible that the water is leaking from this area.

Last, i would check the water inlet valves for cracks. this is another uncommon issue but, its worth checking during the inspection.

Wow, this washer is very old. im sure the drainage hoses will need to be inspected or replaced asap. i would also check the pump housing for cracks as well. make sure the water inlet valve assembly ins in good condition as well. Replace any hose or valve that is leaking or, damaged.

Water leaks and spin cycle not working properly

Water leaking from the bottom usually indicates either a bad hose , bad hose connection to the pump or a leaking pump. Also sounds like the machine is not spinning out. Is there water left in the tub at the end of the cycle?

Maytag MAV2755AWW Washing Machine is leaking water

It sounds like you have a leaking pump. The pump is easy to replace:
#1 Use a shop vac and pull all the water out of the drain line. This will keep you from having to clean up about 1 gallon of water off of the floor.
#2 Lift the front of the machine enough for you to get under and see.the pump just inside the front of the washer.
#3 Lift the 2 retaining clips off of the pump. This will allow you to pull the pump off of the motor.
#4 Remove the 2 clamps off of the hoses.
#5 Install the new pump into the hoses, and reinstall the clamps.
#6 With the retaining clips installed into the motor housing, install the pump.
#7 Attach the retaining clips, and set the washer back on the ground.

You have now replaced the washer pump.

Leak from maytag top load coin machine during spin drain cycle only

Possible that you would have a tub seal leak if it is only noticable during spin cycle. Possible that it "drips" slightly while in agitation, but not enough to notice it. While in spin mode you have a lot more parts moving as well as a lot more water pressure on the seal itself. Pump could also be leaking, but highly doubtful since it would leak a constant amount at all times. Good Luck!!! Jim
